What: Alum Cave Trail Hike (Day Hike) When: Saturday Feb. 24 2007 Where: Alum Cave Trail in Great Smokey Mt. Park Departure: Arrive at FUMC 7:30 AM Saturday Feb. 24 Leave FUMC Saturday 8AM Please be on TIME Return: Saturday evening approximately 6:30 PM. Please provide contact number (Cell or number to be contacted at. We will call parents when in cell phone range. What to Bring: Lunch and snack for the trail. Hot Chocolate (one or two packs) Hot cup 10 essentials Insulated gloves Winter cap or toboggan Extra sox’s Rain gear Hiking poles if you have them Flash light (AA or head lamp) Whistle (wear) Day Pack Water bottle Bring a backpacking stove if you have one. What to Wear: Boots and hiking sox’s. Layered clothing , winter hat or toboggan. Note: Do not wear blue jeans. The weather can be extremely diverent in the mountains than it is here. Be ready for cold weather.
