Internet on your phone using Bluetooth Ok I found this other guide which is more easy for newbie’s to follow. I haven’t checked it on my 6600. Will do the testing soon. Those of you on N-gage & 3650 please try too and post a new topic outside this FAQ section about how it is. this will work on most s60 phone I guess! it has been tested on an NGAGE and on N3650! step 1: Creating an access point on your phone! tools\settings\connection\access points\options\new access point>default settings... These are the settings u need there.. Connection Name : Anything (suggestion ADLS or PCGPRS something u remember well cuz u'll need it later!) Data Bearer: GPRS Access Point Name: The name you gave to your bt connection when pairing up with the computer... Username : None Password : No Authentication : Normal Gateway IP Address : 0.0.0.0 and that's all on this on this part.. then go to: tools/settings/connection, and select GPRS set the GPRS connection to "when available", and the access point to "none". The settings on your fone are done! now... the next step; Create a serial port connection from your pc to your phone (u've done this before if u ever used Pcsuite from nokia), this serial connection must be on every time you want to use your pc internet connection as a gprs connection for your phone!! Install the software u need to surf the web (opera, netfront, agile messenger for chat, etc..) My advise to you is to use netfront, the options are pretty cool and it uses less memory meaning u can still run other program such as agile at the same time (it crashed my 3650 when I tried to do it with opera).. Voil? ur ready to use ur phone to surf and chat for free!! hope this helped you and that is simple and clear!! any question u know where to post, this will be updated if many doubts come up. ps. works with ngage arena games!!! Enjoy! 10 Things you don't know about NOKIA 1) The ringtone "Nokia tune" is actually based on a 19th century guitar work named "Gran Vals" by Spanish musician Francisco Tárrega. The Nokia Tune was originally named "Grande Valse" on Nokia phones but was changed to "Nokia Tune" around 1998 when it became so well known that people referred to it as the "Nokia Tune." 2) The world's first commercial GSM call was made in 1991 in Helsinki over a Nokia-supplied network, by Prime Minister of Finland Harri Holkeri, using a Nokia phone. 3) Nokia is currently the world's largest digital camera manufacturer, as the sales of its camera-equipped mobile phones have exceeded those of any conventional camera manufacturer. 4) The "Special" tone available to users of Nokia phones when receiving SMS (text messages) is actually Morse code for "SMS". Similarly, the "Ascending" SMS tone is Morse code for "Connecting People," Nokia's slogan. The "Standard" SMS tone is Morse code for "M" (Message). 5) The Nokia corporate font (typeface) is the Agfa Monotype Nokia Sans font, originally designed by Eric Spiekermann. Its mobile phone User's Guides Nokia mostly used the Agfa Rotis Sans font. 6) In Asia, the digit 4 never appears in any Nokia handset model number, because 4 is considered unlucky in many parts of Southeast/East Asia. 7) Nokia was listed as the 20th most admirable company worldwide in Fortune's list of 2006 (1st in network communications, 4th non-US company). 8. Unlike other modern day handsets, Nokia phones do not automatically start the call timer when the call is connected, but start it when the call is initiated. (Except for Series 60 based handsets like the Nokia 6600) 9) Nokia is sometimes called aikon (Nokia backwards) by non-Nokia mobile phone users and by mobile software developers, because "aikon" is used in various SDK software packages, including Nokia's own Symbian S60 SDK. 10) The name of the town of Nokia originated from the river which flowed through the town. The river itself, Nokianvirta, was named after the old Finnish word originally meaning sable, later pine marten. A species of this small, black-furred predatory animal was once found in the region, but it is now extinct. Format S60 Symbain Phone Problems like nokia 6600 gallery is not opening, camera is not working, Bluetooth device of mobile is not working, mobile is operating much slowly, u’r cell is infected by viruses like commwarior (we’ve an alternate solution for this )..and many other problems then first RESET your phone so that it’ll get theoriginal factory settings. First format by secret codes here and then if the codes failed go for full hard formatting via keys (step 3). Resetting just solves many problems and if the problem still persists go for other alternatives found in our ‘PROBLEM SOLVER’. RESETTING PHONE BY NOKIA SECRET CODES (steps 1 and 2) 1st step : SOFT RESETTING NOKIA 6600 A Soft-reset is the process of resetting all the settings of the phone to the factory default! No applications are deleted. Take backups of ur phone books, calender and others, then simply enter the code *#7780# It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….” Then it asks for security code enter ur security code whose default value is 12345 then the phone is resetted after restart. The phone will be restored to the time when you purchased the phone.Default apps are not deleted. 2nd step : HARD RESETTING BY CODE A Hard-reset is like formatting a memory disk. It formats the phone memory. Everything that has been installed other than default apps at d time of purchase are deleted. The phone’s setting will be restored to the time when you purchased the phone.Default apps are not deleted. Just enter the code- *#7370# Then it asks for security code enter ur security code whose deafault value is 12345 ….then proceed as in previous step….. NOTE: The battery must be full or the charger has to be connected to the phone so that it does not run out of power and make the phone unusable. Take backup of the contacts and other important data in MMC . FLASHING 3rd step :’FLASHING 6600' : ANOTHER METHOD FOR HARD FULL FORMATTING If any of the above methods failed to make your phone formatted then try this step-mainly try this step if the problems are following-blank screen phone unable to boot, phone is only able to boot-up to Nokia screen ,unable to uninstall any installed software, unable to delete certain files on C drive(phone memory). This step is known as flashing of phone. Always do this step at last (after 1st 2 steps are over and u are not successfull) as these problems might be solved by resetting using codes. To format the (restore factory settings) phone here is a way . 1. Make sure you phone is fully charged. (At minimum 3/4 of bettery should be left) 2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible). 3. Switch-off your 6600 phone. 4. Press and hold these three keys together -Green dial key,-Star key (*)-Three key (3) then press the power on/off to switch on the 6600 phone. Do not let go the three keys until you see the formatting screen displayed 5. After a few minutes, the format will be complete. Your 6600 will now be at its original factory settings (It will reach the same state as that in when you purchased it). All inbuilt applications provided by nokiawill not be deleted).
