II: Basic Features of the Smartboard 600i

 Scratchpad- To access: Hit the menu button and click Scratchpad
o The purpose of scratchpad is to enable teachers to write the
lesson on the board, in their handwriting without utilizing the
             laptop.
o THE LAPTOP DOES NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO USE THE
             SMARTBOARD WHEN USING SCRACHPAD
o If you have a USB Flash Drive and would like to save your
Scratchpad drawing/lesson, insert the USB drive into the
connection box and click the picture of the floppy disk on the
menu bar on the Smartboard. Select either PDF, or JPEG. You
can not open the drawing once it is saved. If you do not save
the drawing/lesson to a flash drive, the drawing/lesson will be
             deleted.
 Computer Input 1- To access: Hit the menu button and click Computer Input 1
o Using the laptop, you can access the internet, Microsoft Word, Excel

practically anything with just a touch of the Smartboard. Just
             touch and go!
           o PLEASE BE AWARE:
THE SMART BOARD IS NOT 100% ACCURATE. YOU
MAY HAVE TO MOVE THE MOUSE OFF THE TARGET
               AREA TO OPEN A DOCUMENT/SHORTCUT
o To use the onscreen keyboard to type on the Smartboard, press
the keyboard key located underneath the Eraser on the pen tray.
o If at any time, instead of clicking the item, the pen is drawing on

             “Close drawing layer.”
