Greetings Family & Friends, The Smith – Hodge Family Reunion Planning Committee of Georgia (David Hodge, Terri Hodge-Guy and Traci Hodge-Thomas) is excited to announce the 2004 Smith – Hodge Family Reunion to be held in Lithonia, Georgia a suburb east of Atlanta. We have a great weekend planned with something for everyone. We have given careful consideration to family budgets and therefore chose to announce the reunion well in advance. In addition we did not plan an evening dinner dance to keep costs down. In order to help us fine tune our planning we ask that you let us know if you plan to attend. If you prefer to be contacted via email please let us know. Utilizing email will help to keep postage costs down. Accommodations Rooms have been blocked off for the Smith – Hodge Family Reunion at the Holiday Inn at a rate of $80.00 for a room and $89.00 for a suite. Check in time is 4:00pm, however early check in is possible if the room is available. The hotel offers a complimentary continental breakfast and has a pool. Each family has until March 15, 2004 to secure rooms with a valid credit card. After March 31, 2004 the hotel will hold the planning committee responsible for putting down a 10% nonrefundable deposit to hold rooms. THE PLANNING COMMITTEE CAN NOT PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN TO HOLD ROOMS. We encourage everyone to book their room well in advance to ensure availability. Picnic Facility We’ve reserved an excellent outdoor YMCA facility for the picnic. The facility is closed to the general public, which means that the entire facility will be ours for the day. Activities include a huge outdoor pool complete with lifeguards and floatation devices for children; a covered outdoor gymnasium complete with basketball hoops; softball diamond; volleyball; fishing pond and much more. We will have a basketball tournament and organized activities for all ages. Fun Run/Walk-a-Thon This is a fun way for us to raise money for our 2006 reunion. The walk-a-thon will take place at Stone Mountain Park early Friday morning 6/25/04. Participants who want to help raise funds will take nominal pledges from family members and all pledge monies will go towards our next reunion. This is an excellent fitness activity for everyone to participate in. The walk takes approximately 2 hours depending on how fast you walk. Don’t worry, transportation will be provided for anyone who can not complete the 5 mile course.
