Okay. Originally hit her up on Face Book. Uh-huh. (Affirmative) When I first moved down here always gonna try and hang out, never happened. Ah, all the way up until the month if May. Um, finally got her to come out to a DJ gig I was there at my friend’s birthday party late May. Ah, she showed up with two of her friends. Um, just hit it off that night, started hanging out. Um, basically that’s how it started and all I know is that she.. the way the she portrayed herself was she was with her child.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) She was very loving and caring. And like there was not... there was no doubt in my mind that you know that she loved her child and wouldn’t do anything about this. That’s why it was such a shock to hear this stuff.

Okay. Um... Tell me this, um, what type of relationship do you guys have? Were you guys, were you guys kicking it boyfriend/ girlfriend? Just... what...

She.. this.. it... it became a little... it was serious, it became serious pretty quick. Um, I wouldn’t doubt that ah, I think that she started getting really, really attached. And I tried pushing a little away. Um, but she’s um, you know also she’s been also like going pretty.. pretty good around here. She’s been you know doing my laundry, she’s being like a, she was being like one like a perfect girlfriend if you want to say. I mean...

Okay. ....she’s been cooking for everybody in the house, cleaning up the place and doing all different types of things for intrusion of being here.

Right. So, did you guys ever fuss and fight? Was it a good relationship? I.. the relationship that we’ve had it was like you know like just little petty fights of me ‘cause I’m like, I like to tease you know. Like I’d always like you know push her buttons.

Right. And she’d get upset about it real quick you know. But it would always.. we just make up right after that you know.

Okay. Was kind of one of those relationships. So, you um, do you guys.. um, share a bedroom? Yes. Okay. She stayed um, in my bed. Did she bring a lot of clothes what did she bring with her when she... Ah.. Did she basically move in or... ...at first.. ...she come and go? She at first in beginning of June right? Uh-huh. (Affirmative) She was just like she would...like she would just have a change of clothes. Okay. And then she’d like I guess leave and then ah, I would go to school ‘cause I go to school everyday Full Sail.

And then she you know when I got out of class (Inaudible)... she’d come back over and she might’ve stayed or she would leave and go supposedly to her nanny’s place.

Okay. Um... Now when she says nanny, is nanny her um, grandmother or nanny as in... No her nanny her baby’s nanny’s, her baby’s... Okay. ...nanny. Now um, I don’t know the gull name I know that the other detectives have her full name, I don’t have it. She calls.. her nickname I guess is Zani the nanny.

Okay. Um, but that’s basically what I know. That’s like almost extent of what I knew about the nanny.

Okay. But from what I know saw with her actually with the child I ... you know and she, what she told me you know.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) You know she was, she’s like also show off the fact that she had a kid and she went to school, held a job all together. So, I thought that she had a good head on her shoulders.

Where’d she go to... where’d she work at? She said she works at Universal as an event planner. Okay and where’d she go to school at?

She said that she went to, she’s going to Valencia she got an associates at Valencia and she’s working to get into a program at UCF.

Okay. And um, how often do you say you guys were pretty much together what um, let’s just say from mid May till recently? Till...

Late, late.. I would say like probably.. I don’t know exactly what any.. definitely after May 21st.

Okay. So, from May 21st.. (Inaudible)... ...up until.. Until yesterday. Okay, so until yesterday. Um, how many times you say that you saw her daughter?
A
Three times total maybe. I would think.. first time she brought her over had to be sometime late May when we first started having... like you know we first started just like randomly hanging out. I remember she brought her over. Um, another time I think it was for like ah, I don’t know maybe an hour. And then the third time it was when we I think went down to the pool and I just told you June 2nd.

Right. I do not remember um, that was the last time that I saw Caylee. Okay. Um, how did you interact with Caylee? How did I interact with Caylee? Yeah. I mean I used to work at a camp as a camp counselor with little kids. I mean I have a little sister, a bunch of um, not.. bunch of little cousins. I love... I mean I like little kids.

Right. I got along with her you know. She’s a cute kid and you know the thing that scares me with the whole deal is that she’s.. she was very, very.. she’s like very friendly with the, with strangers.

Okay. And her being down by the pool and the kid being very like outgoing saying hello to everyone and say hello to everybody and by the pool.

Okay. How.. how did they ah, how did ah, Casey and Caylee... I get ‘em mixed up the name is so close together. How’d they interact? Was it you know ah, was she one of these on mommy all the time? Was she you know just you know um, she independent? What.. what.. how did they react.. interact with each other?

Caylee was ah, Caylee is an independent. She’s got a, she’s like a... she has like some kind of character to her. But I mean like she was always wanting to be you know, she wanted to be with mom.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) You know. Um, there was times you know where like you know I guess Caylee was wanted to do something. But that’s just basically like she... I gave her the drum sticks and she was drumming on her leg. She grabbed the drum sticks and said no and obviously she got upset and then they made up right after.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Like you know. But that I mean basically not so, not anything out of the extra ordinary that I would say that I saw that was any like hurtful or anything like that. Like that’s why I was so shocked to hear that...

Was that the time with the drum sticks the only time you ever saw her I guess you’d say discipline her?

One other time was when Caylee... ‘cause she’d run off to the stairs. Uh-huh. (Affirmative) She’d discipline her one time and yelled at her because she ran up the stairs ‘cause obviously you don’t want a 2 ½ year old by the stairs especially on those ones over there.

Right. Um, and also when we were at the pool she tried what she almost.. like tried going near the pool, the water.

Without mom? Yeah. Okay. Um, so you never seen her be out and out mean to her? Just for no reason? Yeah. No. Yeah you know just walk up pop her up side the head or anything like that? No, no, no. Okay. Um, did she you know she... you ever see her cook for her? Yeah. Was she ever here long enough?

When ah, when she came over those two times I said she was over here for a while. She made me, actually went to Subway one time and she got Caylee a sandwich and stuff. Um, she always had her juice. She always had some juice and crackers for her, animal crackers or these little fish... not gold fish, but like I guess like these dolphin things.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Stuff like that. And she made us the last time she came over to the pool she made us some kind of chicken dish with rice and broccoli and stuff like that.

Okay. So, that, so the last time you saw her was June 2nd? Yeah. Caylee? Um, had you talked to Caylee on the phone since then? (No verbal response). Has mom mentioned her? Did she... Mom, has been... this is ah, the other thing. She’s been telling ah, me that.. ‘cause she would go like, like without even me asking telling me out of just the blue just telling me just like, oh Caylee’s going to be with the nanny and they’re going to Disney.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) And I remember asking about it the next day I’m like, oh what’s Caylee doing? Like this happened like when she first started moving. You know what I’m saying when this first happened when she first went.. I guess grabbed most of her clothes.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) And came back. And I’ll get into that a little... why she did that in a second. But um, basically she told me that she went to Disney and then I told, that’s the next

day and she was like, yeah she gonna be at Disney, she’s going to Disney again. I guess she got, they got a weekend pass or something like that. Q A Right. And then I remember her telling me also, I remember I don’t (Inaudible)... Next weekend or the weekend after that she said that they were going Cocoa Beach. Q A Right. And then she kept on saying that oh they stayed an extra day. And they’re gonna stay another day. I’m like, this became a thing like, oh.. I was a little you know questioning, feel weird about that. But she would say that she talked to Caylee or she was going to visit Caylee. Q A Q Right. All the time. So, I mean... So, um, would she, would she like how often would you see her? Would you see her every., would you see um, Casey. A Q A Q A Casey. Would you see her everyday or would you be.. Yes she pretty much shacked up here. Okay. So, when she said she was going to visit you’re in, you’re in class? I’m in like each … how Full Sail works… each month um, you change your schedule. Like the past two months that she’s been.. like you know like basically here. Like um, I had 9 to 1 p.m., class. Q A Okay. Um, now sometimes we have projects and stuff I don’t usually get out. Maybe I’ll you know I’ll just be outside and conversing with my... like you know all the classmates.

Right. So, I’ll sometimes I won’t be home till you know 1:30, 2 o’clock in the afternoon. She said you know she’s already been home back with groceries and said she was out and doing errands or whatever. And now this month I’ve been getting... I’ve also 9 to 1 in the morning. And now I have 9 to... I mean I have lab right after that and I have it everyday.

Right. So, I’m pretty much at school from 9 to 5. So, you wouldn’t think anything different if she’s here when you get back, yeah I been...

Exactly. ...and I’m back. She’s... cooking and cleaning you know and doing normal thing and hey how you doing? How’s your day, asking about school and you know.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) That’s basically what you know I.. was just you know coming home to. Right. Okay so what were you gonna tell me about her getting all. Oh, oh the thing why she started staying here I guess. Ah, she said this is what she told me. Her parents her parents are having some kind of huge dispute like. Um, she was telling me about how she hates her father.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) And how her father was cheating and has been cheating on her mom. And like her mom ah, always is like I guess is not listening to what Casey’s saying to her. I guess to leave him.

And this whole big dispute. And her reasoning for the whole thing of her being here and Caylee being at the nanny’s is the fact that she didn’t want Caylee to be in the house while that was happening.

Okay. And she couldn’t deal with it. And she used to tell me that she talked to her mom about how her mom’s glad that I’m here for Casey because she wouldn’t be able to go through what’s going on between the two parents if I wasn’t around and all this stuff. Um, I actually never conversed with the mom or talked to the mom on the phone. ‘Cause she’d always go outside to go talk to her mom.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) ‘Cause she said... and I always asked her like why you call your mom in the apartment? She goes, because I don’t want to embar... you know ‘cause I guess she’s.. she always get in an argument with her mom.

Alright. And she says that if she’s out... that’s what she said. She goes if I go outside then I know that I can’t be you know a lunatic on the phone with her.

Okay. ‘Cause it would be embarrassing I guess. So, that’s.. that was what she used to tell me. I mean there’s plenty times I walked outside to go see what she’s doing and she’s walking off you know just on the phone all over the place. But I never got to see who’s ...

Like just roaming around when she’s talking? Yeah. But.. yeah so that’s basically.. so I mean I never was never like you know you’re moving in, or like you know I was more like, okay you got to do what you got to do with your family. I don’t want to... like and I would’ve asked maybe

contact with the brother or something. Maybe the mother or something. And if I thought it was something serious, but I.. it was just mostly the way she was making it seem like, she just didn’t want to be around it and she didn’t want to be around negative vibe and stuff like that. Q A Right. And I kind of was not like trying to get involved in anything. The way she was talking about the parents like, I don’t know the people. Q A Q A Q A Right. I don’t want to get.. Not your business. You don’t want to get in the middle... It’s none of my business. ....of it. I just gonna be here and you know do what I got to do and you know. If she needed somebody to talk to obviously…. that’s what I would, just listen. Q A Right. And that’s basically what’s been going on for the past month in a half I guess. Or since that I guess started happening. Q Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Um, is there any ah, any period of time where she was like um, to you unaccounted for? You know you guys are kicking it, you go... A Q A Q Oh I couldn’t find her? Yeah. I didn’t know where she was? And you wanted to. Was there ever anytime like that?

Um, no not when I’m here. I mean I went back I think what was it.. June twenty...9th was the day? Sean, real quick, you left Sunday, June 29th to go back to New York right?

Yep. Alright, so the 30th, Monday, I left to go up to New York. Okay. Um, and I didn’t come back till the 5th. Okay so alright so from June 30th till July 5th, you’re in New York? Yeah. How often do y’all talk? I talked to her, I mean she... Not really that much. Not really.. I didn’t really... I mean I talk to... Tony, you didn’t want to talk to her. I mean yeah I was trying to you know, I didn’t want to be on the phone 24-7 be.. you know I haven’t seen.. you don’t bet much breaks in Full Sail.

Right. I want to be around people I haven’t seen in a while. So, I mean I.. I would talk to her maybe here like you know just to say what’s up. And she’d hit me a text message I’d be like, hey I’m doing this maybe I’ll call you later tonight.

Right. The only times I really talked to her if probably at night where I would just fall asleep on the phone.

Ah, the only drug she used and I wouldn’t even say that she definitely does it regular... I mean I wouldn’t know, but doesn’t seem like it is marijuana that I’ve seen.

I went to college you know I know ... believe me I now what it’s like in college. Yeah. Okay, so alright so she drinks a little... she likes to drink? Yeah. Beer, liquor? She ah, she usually, she likes a beer... she’s more of a beer drinker. Okay. Ah, that I’ve seen. Um, I’ve been to ... I remember I went to.. I remember going to a bar one time with her. Um, when we first started hanging out. Ah, some place downtown. She was just you know casually drinking some beer. Um, there’s actually a club that I worked at I haven’t really been there since I went back to New York. But I usually manage a night.. ah, Fusion, which is a sushi restaurant off of Woodbury Road.

Okay. And the owner makes it like a lounge, Martini bar after. It’s a really nice place actually.

Alright. If you never been there. Um, and I manage nights there and I usually DJ. So, I mean she would just come up there you know try and to help out with whatever. ‘Cause I have the shot girls and she tells the shot... ‘cause she wants to have some kind of help. So, I would let her you know manage the shot girls and...

Fair enough. ...and tell the shot girls what to do and stuff. That was basically you know... and she drank a couple of beers here and there. I remember she got you know a little tipsy one night but it wasn’t anything that never seen.

(laugh) Ah, very affectionate. Okay. So, she’s not one of these um, paranoid people? No, not paranoid. Touchy, feely? She’s giggly just.. I mean the girl’s giggly she’s just happy.. this is one other thing, she’s been happy the whole entire time she’s been here.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Um, she’s been really happy she’s just and you... I mean any of my friends that hang out with her, she comes out she’s very, very social person.

Okay. Um, ah, she makes friends very, very quickly. That’s one of the reasons attracted me to her she’s an outgoing personality you know.

Right. So, I mean that’s basically where.. she’s just very outgoing person, very friendly, likes you know to kid around and laugh. And that’s basically what she does when she’s high she laughs a lot more.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Then she does, she doesn’t shut up. Right. You know and ... But she’s not like, she’s not a mean drunk or... No. ...mean when she gets high? She’s just ... I mean... ...happy? ...we.. there is I think ah, well that one night that she got really drunk I mean I was just... because I was completely sober and I wasn’t with the night. So, I was already a little frustrated about stuff. And it was just like I mean like she was like saying some like stupid, stupid things and I was just like, what? Like shut up!

That’s when I guess she got a little.. she did get a little mean with that and then I was like... so she apologized the next morning about everything. So, she was aware that she said what she said and stuff like that.

Okay. Um, I believe she mentioned something to you about some type of bank account. Do you remember what that was?

Alright. Since I’ve known her she told me, she told.. she’s letting like things made me to believe that she makes a lot of money.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Okay. Now I’m hearing something completely different from her brother, from what last night and I guess from what I’ve heard from her mother that walked in yesterday. Um, she says that she has, she’s had like... ‘cause she was talking about getting a new vehicle.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Or an apartment or getting her parents’ house. That was a whole other.. that was also part of the issue with the parents. She’s suppose to get the house, didn’t get the house you know ‘cause they’re suppose to move out.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) And didn’t get the house and there was like a whole big deal like her mom found, you know found something happened with her dad and shit like that. Um, basically ah, oh I just lost my train of thought. She ah, oh bank account right. Ah, she said she’s always said that she’s had like fifteen, ten to fifteen thousand dollars saved up.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) For I guess a car or whatever like she’s been saving up for Caylee or something like.

Right. And she was gonna ah, this morning when she contacted me. Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Um, you know I was digging into her a little bit you know about like the whole situation. Because up until 8 o’clock last night everything’s gravy. And she got pulled out. I didn’t know nothing and her brother calls me up and says that Caylee’s missing and she hasn’t seen Cay... like she didn’t know where Caylee.. Casey didn’t know where Caylee was for 30 days.

Right. Which baffled me you know. And the fact that she stole money from her friend too and I just like, bombarded with that information it was just too much. But ah, yeah I so I was asking her (Inaudible)... her a little bit this morning I was like, if you had fifteen.. you had this fifteen thousand dollars in the ban account. You know in another bank account that you say you have.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Why would you need to take money from your friends account? And she goes I needed for some kind of backup plan. I was like, what kind of backup plan you talking about. And she’s like, oh don’t.. I was like, I don’t want to hear about no back plan. I don’t want to hear anything that you have to say about stuff like that. And she’s like, oh no nothing like that. I’m like, I don’t... just don’t say anything about that I don’t want to hear it.

She didn’t tell you like any, any bank or anything? Have you ever taken her to a bank?

Hm, no um, she said that she’s had a Wachovia account before. Uh-huh. (Affirmative)

She took me to her house.. ...house? ...she took me to her house before. Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Where her mom stays? Her mom yeah, her parents’ house I guess where her mom’s house is. I’ve been to that house um, twice.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Um, for like, no one was home. Like I said I’ve never met besides yesterday that’s when I first met her family at all.

Right. Um, and like I said the only other spot was like that, that she’s actually take.. that she’s taken me?
