FLSA: Non-Exempt Date Updated: August 20, 1992 Title Of Immediate Supervisor: Accounting Supervisor CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs fiscal processing in the areas of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. This is a single level classification. It is not part of a series. MISSION The primary mission of all employees is to provide the citizens of the City of Kennewick with the most efficient and effective service possible. Salaries are paid by the taxes, revenues, and users fees collected from the citizens of Kennewick. Each employee is expected to treat all people with the courtesy and respect due them at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES FREQUENCY BAND/GRADE 1. Processes invoices for payment by reviewing invoices to verify accuracy, reconciling to purchase orders, making appropriate changes and adjustments and releasing purchase orders for payment. Daily 20% B2

2. Balances purchase order released for payment against claims roster and makes appropriate adjustments. Signs all claims warrants. Daily 10% B2

3. Maintains assortment of checkbooks including treasurer, advanced travel, dental fund and petty cash by tracking deposits and warrants redeemed, issuing and voiding checks, reviewing claims for accuracy and to determine proper reimbursement amount, and maintaining and balancing check register. Daily 20% 4. Reconciles total receipts in accounting system with daily bank deposit, identifies and corrects any discrepancies, and releases receipts for posting to accounting system. 5. Maintains various ledgers by entering billing and payment data and reconciling ledger to general ledger. Prepares related financial reports for distribution. Daily 20% Accounting Specialist - Page 1 B2

6. Reviews timecards for accuracy and assists Accountant in processing payroll. Monthly 5% 7. Receives and responds to billing and assessment inquiries, complaints and concerns by disseminating information of both a routine and confidential nature requiring discretionary judgement and extensive knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Daily 10% 8. Prepares various financial reports and account reconciliation and assists Accounting Supervisor and Accountants on special projects. Daily 5% 9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. As Required B2 B2 B2

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D.) and two or more years of previous clerical accounting or bookkeeping experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to provide sufficient evidence of the successful performance of the essential elements of the job such as those listed above.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS To perform the essential functions of the job, incumbents must be able to perform the following: Reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to a 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
