ACCOUNTING/PAYROLL CLERK Finance Finance Director None SALARY GRADE: Union

This position has primary responsibility for payroll; miscellaneous billing and airport and general services accounts and performs a variety of accounting duties.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · · · · · · · · · · · · · Promotes positive public relations Performs at a fully skilled level a variety of responsible duties Prepares payroll, associated reports and tax filings. Applies state and federal law, contract provisions, and salary and benefit plans to calculate overtime rates and other variations to pay, Maintains sick leave and vacation balances Cash receipting and coding entries and transactions in accordance with BARS Responsible for LID accounting Prepares miscellaneous billings including rentals, contracts, airport leases, fuel billings, equipment rental fuel spreadsheet and LID's Balances bank statements, assisting with cash flow analysis and preparing related reports Posts payments to current expense customer accounts, airport accounts Assists with preparation of financial reports Prepares reports as required Performs other duties as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS Work is generally performed while standing or sitting, in an office environment, with a computer and telephone. Some lifting of forms and small equipment is required.

10/25/01 · · · · · · Knowledge of the State of Washington Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting System (BARS) Knowledge of business English, composition, spelling and punctuation Ability to operate the telephone in a clear, well-modulated voice using good diction Ability to understand and correctly execute verbal and written instructions Ability to prioritized assignments and work independently Ability to operate office equipment such as a typewriter, adding machine, photocopier and personal computer with respect to word processing, electronic spreadsheets, basic database management and integrated accounting systems Ability to accurately prepare and maintain correspondence, files, reports and statistical information Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other organizations and the general public

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) with computer and accounting experience necessary to successfully perform this job Valid Washington State Drivers License with driving record free from serious or frequent violation
