General Site Description: Bethlehem Steel Corporation constructed the Saucon Tank Farm in the mid-1970s that consisted of five aboveground storage tanks, a pump house, a fuel unloading area, a steam siphon pit, an oil sump trench, a fire protection building, and a nitrogen tank. Most of the tanks, piping, and equipment associated with the Saucon Tank Farm were removed as of approximately 1999. As observed during the field sampling conducted for the UPA, it appears that some of the steam siphon pit and oil sump trench structures remain in the northwest corner of the area. Also, some buried structures remain at the pump house and fuel unloading area that appear to be concrete foundations.
