Saddleback Steve And Sally

I asked for a cell phone for my birthday and my parents told me no. They said I was too young. I guess my dad had to walk up hill in the snow to get to school. He says I should be thankful that I get to ride in a BMW on the way to school. What does that have to do with getting a cell phone?

Let’s see...on Monday I have soccer practice, Tuesday I have dance, Wednesday is back to school night, Thursday soccer practice again and Friday I am spending the night at Chloe’s house. On Sunday, my parents make me go to church.

All I have to say is this...if they don’t get my taco to me in under thirty seconds it better be free!

Most of my friends at school look like me, dress like me and talk like me, so I guess I would say that most people in the world live like me.

I like to listen to Radio Disney. It’s one of my favorite stations.

When I go to church, my parents ask me the same question every time. “Did you have fun today?”

I like school. My favorite part is my friends.

What? You don’t have an X-box?

If I had to pick one, I guess I would say that Britney Spears is my favorite singer.

Where are You Going?
Do what God's teaching says; do not just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves. James 1:22 ICB

Now, suppose a person has enough to live on and notices another believer in need. How can God’s love be in that person if he doesn’t bother to help the other believer? Dear children, we must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words. 1 John 3:17-18 GWT

The numbers below indicate programs or tools we use to move students toward spiritual maturity.

How To transfer the Process
Instead of running around the bases, let’s SAIL around the islands. The goal is to keep all your students sailing around the islands. You cannot let them get stranded on one island!

We have a baseball theme in our ministry...use whatever theme you want! We use a baseball diamond to show our process. ..use anything that shows movement! The numbers below indicate programs or tools we use to move students toward spiritual maturity. Notice, we have the names of the circles on the baseball diamond...ocean below.

A Closer Look At Small Groups
Breakout & Kid’s Quest
Each book consists of twenty-four lessons that are divided into three units. Within each unit there are six lessons and two review lessons focusing on the given subject matter for that particular book.

What Is In Each Breakout and Kid’s Quest Lesson?
Within each lesson, there are four sections designed to move kids from knowing something, to doing something.

The first section is entitled “Listen” in Kid’s Quest and “Breaking It Down” in Breakout. In this opening section, each child reads a short story from the Bible along with a brief explanation discussing this week’s lesson.

The second section in each lesson is entitled “Learn” in Kid’s Quest and “Breaking It Apart” in Breakout. Each child will work through a few questions which further explains the topic and requires them to look up answers in their Bible.

The third section in each book is entitled “Look” in Kid’s Quest and “Break Out” in Breakout. Each child will work through a puzzle or game as it relates to that week’s lesson. Their weekly memory verse will also be in this section.

The fourth section in each book is entitled “Live” in Kid’s Quest and “Breakout Bob” in Breakout. In this final section, each child will remember their lesson with the help of a friend. A cool dude named Breakout Bob or one of the interesting critters of Kid’s Quest. These characters will help each child remember their lesson through a simple hand movement. 22
