Austin Community College Continuing Education
TEXAS PUBLIC EDUCATION GRANT (TPEG/CE)
Texas Public Education Grant may be awarded to Continuing Education students for tuition and fees only for
courses that are approved for reimbursement through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating
Board. Funds are limited in this account, so awards will be made on a first-come-first served basis. Only a selected
number of certifications qualify to receive the TPEG/CE grant. Please ask the financial aid staff before completing
this application.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Financial need based on federal guidelines (FAFSA).
• FAFSA Expected Family Contribution between 0-5273.
• Due to limited funds, students receiving other outside funding are not eligible.
• Student must not be attending high school.
• Must be a Texas resident.
• Student must not be in default of a state or federal student loan.
• Student must not owe money on a repayment of a federal grant.
• Student must be making satisfactory academic progress.
• Student must complete all courses enrolled.
• Must have high school diploma, GED, or ability to benefit.
• Student will only be eligible for one certificate at Austin Community College.
Application Process
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the TPEG Continuing Education Grant
Application.
• It takes approximately two weeks for the Financial Aid Office to receive the FAFSA results.
• It is recommended that the student begin the application process at least three weeks prior to the class starting to
avoid any delays in funding.
• If the program currently enrolled overlaps two academic year, you will need to reapply for the TPEG/Continuing
Education grant. Please call or come into the Financial Aid office for additional information.
Refunds
If a student withdraws from the program during the refund period, any refund balance will be returned to the
TPEG/Continuing Education program fund.
If a student paid for the class before the grant is awarded, once eligible for the grant, the program will reimburse the
determined eligibility amount on the start date of each course up to the amount student paid if eligible.
