Advantage and disadvantage of group Group can be divided into two: Formal groups and informal groups. Firstly, formal groups is created by the management, the aim of formal groups are achieved the target. The group members are chosen from the management. Formal groups are characterized in a degree of managerial involvement in coordinating, controlling and defining the nature activities they undertake. Formal groups’ structures and tasks are clear to define. Secondly, informal groups can form without management. They share same target and common interest. Due to this is informal groups actually they determines how much work is done. Informal groups could form specifically to oppose the wishes of management. Formal group’s aim is to meet the target of management; however, informal groups arise to satisfy the needs of them. Management must understand the importance of informal groups for organizational efficiency and their potential for disrupting the organizational plan. Psychologists discover other group members affect working in groups, the member of group’s behavior and wishes. This becomes group norms. A group norm is sharing the perditions of how things should be done, common attitude, feeling and belief. Norms included working methods, how much work should be done, quality of output, relations with consumers and management. Group norms are very importance for determining workers attitudes; it can create or overcome resistance to new methods and ideas. Group cohesion: Group cohesion means the degrees to group members are prepared to co-operate or confirm their association in the group and perspectives. This can encourages the group member’s norms and make stable of group behavior. Due to group norms and group cohesiveness have great influence for the behavior, management should manage this correctly. Therefore, managers suggest that the organization should have team spirit. It makes easy to manage employees and rise their productive. Team spirit means the members of group should have a strongly thought to meet the target.
