“Opposed to abortion as the direct killing of innocent human life, we (Catholic Bishops) ... will oppose legislative and other measures to expand abortion. We will work to retain essential, widely supported policies which show respect for unborn life, protect the conscience rights of health care providers and other Americans, and prevent government funding and promotion of abortion.” “We stand firm in our support for marriage which is a faithful, exclusive, lifelong union of a man and a woman and must remain such in law. In a manner unlike any other relationship, marriage makes a unique and irreplaceable contribution to the common good of society, especially through the procreation and education of children.” (Jan. 13th, 2009)
In 100 days you’ve implemented a deplorable antilife and anti-family agenda. You were not elected to attack our moral values, our religious liberties and mortgage our children’s future. The majority who elected you voted for real solutions to our economic troubles. On May 17th, you are scheduled to deliver the commencement address before 2,620 young graduating students at Notre Dame. Our young people, full of idealism and hope for the future, do not need to hear empty platitudes and beguiling slogans crafted by clever wordsmiths to tickle young ears. They need to hear the truth. We, the members of Catholic Coalition of New Mexico, hope and pray you will see the light and lead this nation in promoting respect for all human life, in defending the sanctity of marriage and the traditional family, and fostering the common good by acknowledging and respecting the natural moral law in America, forever one nation under God.
“The path of violation of the most fundamental human rights and of the integrity of marriage and the family, which our nation is traveling, is not accidental. It is part of the program set forth by those whom we have freely chosen to lead our nation. The part of the program in question was not unknown to us ... a majority of our fellow citizens, including a majority of our fellow Catholics, chose the leadership which is now implementing it with determination. “For example, I refer to our President's declared support of the Freedom of Choice Act, which would make illegal any legislation restricting procured abortion; his repeal of the Mexico City Policy, permitting U.S. funding of procured abortion in other nations, together with the grant of fifty million dollars to the United Nations Fund for Population Activities which, for example, supported the Republic of China's policy of one child per family… his proposal to rescind the regulations appended to the federal Conscience Clause, which assure that… all health-care workers may refuse to provide services, information or counsel to patients regarding medications and procedures which are contrary to their conscience… and his choice of the members of his administration … who favor the denial of the right to life to the unborn and the violation of the integrity of marriage and the family. “If we are serious about our patriotic duty, then we must pray everyday for our leaders, especially our President, and our nation… As Catholics, we can never cease to work for the correction of gravely unjust laws.” (Excerpts from Archbishop Raymond Burke’s Keynote Address, National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, 5/8/09

“If they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
Senator Barack Obama speaking of his two daughters
President Obama’s First 100 Days1
In January, President-elect Obama picked Thomas Perrelli as Associate Attorney General. Pirelli argued on behalf of Michael Schiavo pro bono in the assisted homicide case of Terri Schindler Schiavo. Schiavo was responsible for the legal killing of his disabled wife.
In January, President Obama released a statement celebrating the anniversary of the High Court decision that unleashed legalized killing of unborn children in America. He claimed “government should not intrude on our most private family matters.” Does the state not have a compelling reason to prevent the killing of innocent human beings? Legalized abortion in America allows killing innocent babies through nine months of pregnancy. In January, President Obama issued an Executive Order overturning the Mexico City Policy, providing hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars for groups that perform and promote abortions abroad. February, Obama picked David Ogden, as Deputy Attorney General. Ogden, an ACLU lawyer with ties to the porn industry, argued that a conviction for receiving and possessing child pornography should be overturned on constitutional grounds. He has also argued in court that girls as young as fourteen years old do not need parental notification when seeking an abortion and that abortion is a form of family planning that should be eligible for taxpayer funding.
In February, Obama picked Elena Kagan, advocate for homosexuals serving in the military as Solicitor General. In March, President Obama starts the process to rescind conscience exemptions which protect healthcare professionals from being coerced and forced to participate in or refer for abortions. In March, President Obama picked Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as cabinet head of the Department of Health and Human Services. As Governor, she vetoed numerous bills regulating late-term abortions while receiving political donations from late-term abortionists. In March, Obama issued an Executive Order reversing federal restrictions on human embryonic stem cell research, opening the way for taxpayer funding of unnecessary experiments on human embryos, human clones, and human-animal hybrids. In March, the Obama administration, at the UN Commission on the Status of Women meeting argued for an international right to abortion. In March President Obama picks David Hamilton, former fundraiser for the radical organization, ACORN, accused of widespread multi-state voter fraud, as his first judicial appointment. In April under Janet Napolitano, the Department of Homeland Security released a report on domestic terrorism targeting veterans and pro-life advocates along with the KKK and white supremacist groups. In April Obama picks Dr. Cass Sunstein to head a key regulatory office. Sunstein has advocated rationing health care: “A program that saves young people produces more welfare than one that saves old people.” In April under Obama the FDA issued an order that Plan B “morning after pill” a powerful sometime abortifacient chemical could be given to 17-year-old minors without a prescription or their parents’ consent.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has over $1 billion in assets and claims an increase of 15,560 abortions in 2007.
(PPFA annual report for 20072008) Praising the “new
direction” of the United States, the largest abortion provider in the U.S. says it will play a “unique role” in shaping the Obama administration’s health agenda. (Catholic News Agency, 4/15/09)
“DOMA was an unnecessary encroachment by the federal government in an area traditionally reserved for the state.” (Sen. Obama , 8/08) “As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full equality in their family and adoption laws...I will never compromise on my commitment to equal rights for all LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) Americans." Obama held a health care summit at the White House on March 5th. No pro-life health groups were invited. His invited guest list bespeaks his own radical agenda and allegiances. Groups at the health care summit included: Planned Parenthood, The Human Rights Campaign, National Council of La Raza, Children's Defense Fund, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, National Partnership for Women and Families, PICO community organizing pressure group (ala ACORN). So much for bipartisanship.
