                                                     2008-2009
This calendar is subject to change, and may be changed by majority vote of the BAYSA Executive Board. Please
check the BAYSA website (www.baysa.org) for the most up-to-date version.

Note: Deadlines for BAYSA Member Clubs will be earlier than the dates listed here. Be sure to check with the
appropriate person within your Member Club for their deadlines. Dates with asterisk(*) indicate STYSA estimated
deadlines; refer to their calendar on the STYSA website.


                                                       AUGUST 2008
    1          Registration Period begins – Players may be rostered and teams may be activated for the fall in Affinity as of
               this date. The movement of players between teams after this date must be processed as transfers.
    1          Initial batch print jobs for adult and player cards begin. After initial print job, begin weekly procedure of
               requests into association registrar by Tuesdays and cards ready by Thursdays.
    4          Fall Registration Team Deposit Due from Clubs. (based on 70% of previous year’s fall registration)
    4          BAYSA General Meeting, 7 p.m., BAYSA Office
    15         Team Entry Deadline
    19         Schedulers’ Workshop, 7 p.m., BAYSA Office
    21         Scorekeepers’ Workshop, 7 p.m., BAYSA Office
    28         Scorekeepers’ Workshop (tentative alternate date)

    1          US Youth Soccer / STYSA Seasonal Year begins

    6          Verification of Team Rosters and Player Cards. Coaches must verify rosters and player cards at beginning of
               season and routinely as changes are made.
    6          BAYSA Fall Season Begins
    6          ID CARDS. All identification cards (players and adults) for players participating in games must be signed, photo
               attached, and laminated
    10         D&P Meeting, 7 p.m., BAYSA Office
    29         U9/U10 Game Cards must be turned into BAYSA office by 6 p.m. for re-bracketing
    30         BAYSA Re-bracket schedule meeting for U9/U10 teams

    1          Initial Fall Registration Counts due to STYSA.
    1          BAYSA Award Nominations Open for Boys’ Coach, Girls’ Coach, Volunteer, and Youth Referee

    4-5        2nd Half of U9/U10 Season Begins
    10         Fall Championship Team Counts – BAYSA sends information to STYSA ON Division II and Division III teams
               advancing to Fall Championship District Games. Must provide the number of teams in each age group eligible
               for consideration.
    15         BAYSA Player Grant Application deadline
    15         Allocations. STYSA sends allocations for fall championship competitions to member associations (BAYSA)
    28         BAYSA Fall Registration closes (11:59 p.m.)

1        Final Fall Registration Report due to STYSA. Fall rosters frozen.
1        Final club payment for fall registration due to BAYSA

1*       Monday before District Tournament Play – BAYSA sends team information to the State Office for all teams
         advancing to Fall Championship District Tournaments in Division II and Division III. Information to be reported
         includes: team name, team number, coach’s name, coach’s email, seeding and penalty points.
5-6*     1st weekend in December – District Tournaments for Division II and III boys and girls teams in Under-11
         through Under-19. If District Games are required for Super II or Division I, those games will be played on this
         date.
8*       Monday before State Tournament Play – Team information is due in the State Office for all teams advancing
         to Fall Championship State Tournaments in Division II, Super II and Division I.
         Information to be reported includes: team name, team number, coach’s name, coach’s email, seeding and
         penalty points.
13-14*   2nd weekend in December – Rainout date for District Tournaments, if needed
         2nd weekend in December – State Tournaments for Division I, Super II and Division II competition levels.
         Tournaments will include boys and girls teams in the following age groups:
         Division I – U11-U13 boys/girls; Super II / Division II – U11-U19 boys/girls
20-21*   3rd weekend in December – Rainout date for State Tournaments, if needed

TBD      Eastern District Cup Deadlines – Entry deadline and final roster dates for participation in US Youth Soccer
         National Championships, President’s Cup, and Director’s Cup have not yet been established by the District Vice
         President. This calendar will be updated upon receipt of those dates.

2        BAYSA General Meeting, 7 p.m., BAYSA Office
7-8      STYSA Winter Governing Board Meeting – Corpus Christi
15       Spring Teams due in Affinity
15       BAYSA spring payments due
TBD      Final roster deadline – Eastern District Teams – All U11 through U14 boys/girls teams entered in US Youth
         Soccer National Championship Series, STYSA President’s Cup or STYSA Director’s Cup. A final roster along
         with release forms, transfer forms, and transfer fees for all player transactions must be submitted to the STYSA
         State Office by this date. BAYSA will set an earlier deadline date in order to insure that clubs paperwork and
         data entries is approved and received by STYSA deadline.
         Note: Due to the close proximity of the final roster deadline and start of play date, all rosters cannot be verified
         by the State Office prior to play beginning. The Coach or Manager is responsible for compliance with all rules of
         the competition. Any team whose roster is found not to be in compliance may be disqualified; all situations will
         be reviewed by the appropriate District Vice President and/or State Registrar.

6*       South Texas Cup Team Counts – BAYSA will provide STYSA with a list of teams interested in participating in
         South Texas Cup so that may be prepared.
12       Easter Weekend – no BAYSA spring games
13       BAYSA Spring Registration Closes (11:59 p.m.)
15       BAYSA Spring Registration Report due to STYSA.
15       New Player Fees due to BAYSA
16       Fall 2009 Registration Opens in Affinity
26       BAYSA Spring Season ends
27       All game cards must be turned into the BAYSA office by 6:00 p.m.
TBD*     South Texas Cup Team Information and Fees Due – Each Member Association sending teams to the South
         Texas Cup District Games must provide to the State Office a copy of the approved roster for each advancing
         team and entry fees for all teams representing them. Entry fee information will be posted on the STYSA website
         along with more detailed information in the weeks to come.
