The Country Club, beautiful mansion, open to all, mostly gay, huge clothing-optional heated pool, fun events. 13. Markey’s bar. Fun local pub, young attractive clientèle and bartenders. 14. Bywater BBQ! great food, Sunday brunch, reasonably priced, romantic courtyard, free delivery! (# on other side) 15. The Bargain Center and Brick House, fun shopping, antiques and vintage items, beautiful gifts and large selection of Mexican art and jewelry. 16. Saturn Bar, a favorite of Nick Cage, funky atmosphere, hip patrons. 17. The HiHo, rock-music venue, the real deal, call ahead for music schedule.

Mimi’s on the Marigny, favorite of Anne DiFranco, great atmosphere, beautiful people, hip new bar with delicious tapas. 21. Feelings cafe. Beautiful restaurant, great food, romantic courtyard. 22. Several fun bars, cafe’s and restaurants in this area. 23. Wasabi. Excellent sushi restaurant, great service, delicious menu. 24. La Pinache. great food, reasonably priced, open late, breakfast anytime, take out. 25.
