E Y E O N eoa A R B O N N E THE DIFFERENCE OF ONE What an amazing journey! Arbonne came into my life in February 2003 when my great friend, Jennifer Melton, invited me to a “mom’s night out.” I went as most people do, with no intention of buying anything. As the night went on, I learned about skin care and the network marketing industry… talk about being mortified. Although I went home without purchasing anything, I had a sample in hand and spent the rest of the night stewing in disbelief about all I had learned that night. The next day I tried the sample of Bio-Matte® Oil Free Cleanser. It was amazing. I had been searching for something like this for years. I called RVP Michelle Howe, now my dear friend and sponsor, and told her I loved the Bio-Matte® Oil Free Cleanser and asked her about the business. The rest is Arbonne history. My road to RVP is like a lot of others, filled with excitement, discouragement and doubt … all at the same time. The excitement of what you can achieve keeps you going. The discouragement and doubt also kept me going. Discouragement and doubt are part of life, and challenging yourself to overcome them is part of the process of personal growth. Once you accentuate the positive and eliminate the negatives (I know it is not as easy as it sounds), success will come. Arbonne is such an incredible company with an incredible opportunity. Do not let it pass you up. Even though I was already in it to “build a business,” I was almost passed up. When my upline had Independent Consultant, Regional Vice President Karen Ward Region; Port St. Lucie, FL her Mercedes-Benz presentation, I went to support her with my stepsister Wendy, a Consultant who purchases product for a discount. It was at this event that I felt I was not good enough and would be passed by. It was not until NTC 2005 Las Vegas when I realized I still had not made a difference in anyone’s life with the Arbonne opportunity. I still did not believe. Thank you, ENVP Cecilia Stoll, for your honesty in truly helping me to see what I needed to do. I had to stop trying to sell the product and focus on the activity of helping others in order for my team to grow. I had to not be afraid of offering anyone the continued ... REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT ” RVP Michelle Howe, sister, AM Wendy Gilstrap; Karen and NVP Wendy Skinner at NTC 2005 Las Vegas. opportunity because of what I saw on the surface. Their real needs may not have only been skin deep. These lessons helped me and my business turn a corner. Arbonne has the most impressive group of incredible, intelligent people from all walks of life. They are all working toward a common goal of success with a positive and true team approach. Our Region is all about being proactive toward achieving health and the potential for financial peace. What people choose to do with this knowledge is entirely up to them. I like to say that I run my business by a very simple formula: Arbonne and knowledge equals the potential for healthy, successful futures. Arbonne came into my life at a time when I thought all of my dreams had been attained: I was happily married, I had a career that included banking, office management and dental assisting (none of these are as glamorous as they sound), and I was able to take care of my precious son, Logan, full time. Although being a full-time mom and homemaker was a wonderful privilege, there was something missing — a personal sense of accomplishment and self-worth. You need both of those to be a success in all areas of your life. Arbonne has done that for me, but not without a challenge. In September 2004, I almost quit. Arbonne was not part of my life from September 2004 until February 2005. It is amazing how having just one person say, “I believe in you and I want to be on your team,” changes everything. Thank you, Wendy. I had been a District Manager for two years holding my own, with no team except for a few Consultants who signed on to purchase at a discount (remember I came into Arbonne of February 2003). My stepsister, Wendy Gilstrap, came on as my first business builder. I truly believe that you will not be successful until you are able to handle it. Go team! Thank you to all who have gone before me. You have paved the road and filled me with so many hopes, dreams and promises. Your words of encouragement have kept us all going. To my husband, Richard: Thank you for your patience, and for allowing me to find my self-worth again. I know it has not been easy for you. I look forward to the rest of our lives together sitting on the porch in Tennessee. To my son, Logan: Thank you for being my gift and showing me what life is really about. I got the short, fast Mercedes-Benz for you. To my dear friend, ERVP Michelle Howe: Thank you for your continued support and always going above and beyond. You have a true servant’s heart. To my first business builder, my step-sister Wendy Gilstrap: Thank you for supporting me and showing me the big picture. I will never forget NTC 2005 Las Vegas. To my entire team: This was only possible because of each and every one of you. Thank you for your efforts and dedication. By working for the good of others, we will bring joy, potential for success, and significance to our lives and the lives around us. Stick with it. We will all be at the top together. I love and appreciate you all. Remember that Arbonne is the gift that allows people to attain better health, friendships and personal growth and the potential for financial peace. In life we are all given different gifts but the gifts we are all left with Arbonne are — peace of mind and heart! The testimonials in this story reflect the actual experience of an individual, are anecdotal only, and may be atypical. Wendy Bentley, Karen and DM Denys Gilman.
