SUPPLEMENTARY NOTES 11. ABSTRACT (200 words or less) The Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Assessment of Materials and Equipment Manual (MARSAME) is a supplement to the Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Site Assessment Manual (MARSSIM). MARSAME provides information on planning, conducting, evaluating, and documenting radiological measurements and decisions on the disposition of materials and equipment based on action levels for release or interdiction. MARSAME is a multi-agency consensus document that was developed collaboratively by four Federal agencies having authority and control over radioactive materials: Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). MARSAME's objective is to describe consistent and technically defensible approaches for radiological measurements of materials and equipment, while at the same time encouraging an effective use of resources. 12.
