This year the Council completed activities in support of the 2008-2009 Plan, making significant progress in the areas of communication and school nutrition. “Highlight the Staff” and “Ask the Council” sections were added to the Chandler Newsletter. The Council helped to facilitate discussions with the Food Services Director and concerned parents regarding healthy snack options available to Chandler students. Increasing nutrition awareness will continue to be a high priority for the Council, continuing and expanding our “vegetable and fruit tasting tasting days”, as well as including a web tour of the www.mynutrikids.com site during Welcome Back days are just some of the exciting projects planned for next year. The Council will be also developing and implementing the 2009-2010 Chandler Survey which drives our School Improvement Plans.
