Mexican Independence By Jeimy Hernandez Stage 1 - Before Independence • The Spanish ruled over an d treated the blacks, Indigenous people and mestizos badly. Stage 2 - Planning • Miguel Hidalgo lead the criollos, blacks, Indigenous and the mestizos people to start a fight. Stage 3 - Grito De Delores • Miguel Hidalgo start the fight against the Spanish but he was captured and killed. Stage 4 - Mexican Independence • Vicente Guerrero started “Plan De Iguala” to make everyone equal in Mexico. What was the most important stage? The most important stage was stage 3 “Grito De Delores.” This stage was the most important one because this is when Miguel Hidalgo did the scream and got everyone together to started the fight against the Spanish. Why was Miguel Hidalgo a great leader? Miguel Hidalgo led the mestizos, the indigenous people and the criollos in the fight against the Spanish. The fact that he didn’t care what would happen to him and just help the other people get freedom make good leader. Event 1 Mexican - American War In 1846 the U.S. entered Mexico and Mexico attacked. Event 2 Mexican - American War The U.S. won because they had more soldiers and weapons. Event 3 Mexican - American War The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo gave the U.S. California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Utah, and in exchanged the U.S. gave Mexico $15 million.
