INSTITUTIONS AND ENERGY POLICY
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) was created in October
2008. It is in charge of the energy policy, which was previously the responsibility of
the DBERR, and of the climate change policy, which was previously the responsibility
of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
In 2007 the Ministry of Trade and Industry (DTI), which was re
