Getting the Most From a Tea Club
So, you've decided that you want to join one of the many tea clubs that
you have seen advertised on the Internet! However, for once you decided
not to be hasty about something, and do a little research before
committing yourself to a club. That's a smart idea, for there are really
quite a few clubs out there, and no two are alike.
What kind of tea do you like? Are you a fan of hot , or iced tea?
Generally, the type that you receive as a member of a club is better
suited to hot preparation. That's not to say that it cannot be made iced,
just that it's much better if you drink it hot, as it was meant to be
savored and enjoyed.
Once you have decided whether or not you think you are a fan of hot tea
(Or maybe you already know that you enjoy a nice, hot cup ) you are ready
to think about the kinds of tea that you think you would enjoy the most.
Most everyone likes Black. If ever there were a "common" tea, then Black
mixed with a bit of Orange Pekoe would be it! But, you might decide you
want to be adventurous and try something new.
How about Mint ? Green ? Chamomile? Ginger? Earl Grey? Are any of these
new to you? Do they sound interesting? You will be surprised you to find
out how many different types there are that you have never tried. That is
one of the good things about a club. It enables you to experiment and
taste teas that you might never have brewed if you had not received them
through the club.
Be aware that not all clubs allow you to choose the kind of tea that you
want. Most of the time, the selection is made for you. If you choose a
club that operates on a "Tea of the Month" basis, often you will receive
one or two new flavors to try. Actually, sometimes it is best to get just
one selection so that you can get "into" it more, and enjoy it better.
You can choose your membership terms for most clubs. Some will allow you
to try the club for one month only. Others have programs to choose from
that include a three month, a six month, or a full year's membership.
Sometimes, the shipping charges are not included in the membership fee,
but are extra and charged separately.
At the same time each month, usually around the middle of the month, you
can have a new tea delivered right to your door. When you sign up for six
months or a year at one time, often you will receive free gifts such as a
teapot or tea kettle. Often, club members will be offered a good deal on
special teas that are available only in limited amounts.
Some clubs offer tea bags, while some have loose tea which is sent to you
in tins. It's up to you to decide which one of these you think would be
most pleasing to your tastes. You'll find that there are tea of the month
clubs that allow you to choose between flavor selections such as herbal
and fruit, mixed, black, green, oolong, and mixed. When this happens, you
will choose one of these groups, and the teas that you will receive will
be from this group only.
For example, if you chose the Herbal and Fruit group, you might receive
Apple Cinnamon and Chamomile , or Lemon Spice and Mint . Choosing the
Black group would cause you to receive teas such as Earl Grey, Chai
Spice, or English Breakfast. If Green was your choice, you can look
forward to Green Chai tea, Jasmine green , or Mint green . Keep in mind
that different clubs will of course offer different kinds and types of
For health reasons, it's a good idea to drink every kind of tea you can.
Green and black teas both have antioxidants that can protect you from
such conditions as heart disease, strokes, and certain types of cancer
such as stomach cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, and breast cancer.
Greenhas also been proven to help with weight loss. An ingredient that is
in green speeds up the metabolism and also the amount of time it takes to
burn up fat. It appears that people who drink green each day somehow use
more calories than those who do not drink green tea.
Tea can improve your health and make you feel better than you have in a
long time. Joining a tea of the month club can supply you with many
different flavors and types of that you are sure to look forward to and
