MONEY-SAVING OFFERS Annual Volume Discount Plan for Print and Microform Purchasers You may be eligible for a discount in 2006 based on the net total of your purchases of CIS and UPA collections made directly from LexisNexis in 2005. For example, if your library spent $30,000 on CIS and UPA print and microform purchases in 2005, you will automatically receive a 10% discount on new orders of print and microform titles for the entire calendar year beginning January 1, 2006. LexisNexis web services, standing order payments for LexisNexis CIS collections, LexisNexis UPA collections, and subscription renewals are ineligible for the discount. If you have not received a letter notifying your library of its 2006 volume discount, contact our Customer Service representatives to find out whether you qualify. Purchases of CIS and UPA microform and print collections made directly from LexisNexis between January 1 and December 31, 2005 (excluding web services, CIS and UPA standing orders, and subscription renewals) qualify your library for the following discounts in the year 2006: Total 2005 Purchase Amount $1,000–$9,999 $10,000–$49,999 $50,000–$99,999 $100,000–$149,999 $150,000–$199,999 $200,000 and above 2006 Discount 5% 10% 15% 20% 25% 30% LexisNexis® ▪ 800-638-8380 ▪ www.lexisnexis.com/academic ii Introduction SHIPPING AND HANDLING Free for Large and Prepaid Orders LexisNexis pays surface shipping and handling on net print and microform orders of $50,000 or more and on orders of any size when payment accompanies the order from a U.S. or Canadian library (i.e., when invoicing is not required). On orders for CIS products only from federal government agencies, shipping and handling are free, regardless of the amount of the order (as specified under the LexisNexis GSA contract). For all other orders, shipping and handling charges are in addition to the prices listed in this price list (excluding subscriptions whose prices include shipping and handling). These charges are modest and vary by size and type of order. Please inquire for details. Rates are subject to change without notice. SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE Placing an Order To place an order, please contact LexisNexis Customer Service toll-free (in the USA and Canada) at 1-800-638-8380 or send an e-mail message to academicinfo@lexisnexis.com. Please send purchase orders to LexisNexis Customer Service at 7500 Old Georgetown Road, Suite 1300, Bethesda, MD 20814 or via fax to 1-301-657-3203. Assistance with Your Order For price quotes, questions about our products, other assistance with your order, or customer service issues, please contact the Customer Service department as you would for placing an order, or contact your LexisNexis Regional Library Representative. You can get in touch with your representative through Customer Service or by following the ‘‘Contact Us’’ link on our website at www.lexisnexis.com/academic. Product Availability All items in this catalog are available directly from LexisNexis. With few exceptions, we do not make our publications and services available through subscription agencies and dealers in the USA and Canada. Price Changes Prices and special offers are subject to change or withdrawal without notice. However, once your order is placed at its current price, you will receive any appropriate discounts and/or special benefits applicable at the time, and the order will be considered firm even if a higher price may be in effect at the time of delivery. Processing and Delivery Orders are processed daily, as promptly as possible. Shipments are made via carriers selected by the publisher unless a specific manner of shipment is requested. Priority orders are subject to availability of material, and there may be a modest additional charge for ‘‘rush’’ service and shipment. Under normal circumstances, products generally will be shipped and current services will begin within two to six weeks from the date on which an order is received. Payment Terms For customers with approved credit, prepayment is not required. Our regular payment terms are net 30 days. Payment must be in U.S. dollars only. LexisNexis® ▪ 800-638-8380 ▪ www.lexisnexis.com/academic Introduction iii All U.S. customers, unless tax-exempt, please add appropriate sales and use tax for your state. If you are tax-exempt you must provide us with a copy of your tax exemption certificate or we are required by law to bill you for sales and use tax. Canadian customers, please add 7% for Goods and Services Tax or, for the maritime provinces, 15% for HST. Purchasers outside the USA in particular are encouraged to make payment via wire transfer to the account of LexisNexis (acct. no. 4064-9568) at Citibank, N.A., 399 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10043, USA (routing transit no. 021000089). Deferred Payment Options LexisNexis offers special interest-free payment terms on non-subscription products that allow U.S. and Canadian libraries with approved credit to pay for their purchases in installments made in separate budget years. Depending on the amount of order, all the published material is shipped to the purchaser for immediate use and is protected from price increases. Deferred payment plans are available on orders totaling $20,000 or more. Please inquire for details. Eligibility for the deferred payment plan is determined by the net price of the order after all applicable discounts have been deducted. As a matter of federal policy, deferred payment is not available to U.S. government agencies. Renewal Policy For subscriptions that are renewed on an annual basis, LexisNexis will automatically renew (‘‘Automatic Renewal’’) such subscriptions each year unless you provide written notice to cancel the Automatic Renewals. All Automatic Renewals are subject to the cancellation policy set forth below. Cancellation Policy If a current subscription or standing order is cancelled within 90 days of receipt of the first shipment, upon written request, a full refund will be issued, with the requirement that all corresponding materials will be returned to the publisher. After 90 days, a prorated refund will be made on materials not yet shipped. Retrospective index orders also may be cancelled within 90 days for a full refund. However, because retrospective microforms are ordinarily custom duplicated upon receipt of an order, LexisNexis reserves the right to apply a cancellation charge on retrospective microform purchases that are cancelled subsequent to placement of a firm order. Printed Guides for UPA Collections Printed guides or finding aids are provided free of charge with UPA microform collections. They are also available for separate purchase for $65 each, unless otherwise noted.
