29 v. Stanley William "Bucky" Teachman, born 04 M ar 1911 in Addison, NY; died 31 Jan 1999 in
Addison, NY. He married Elizabeth "Betty".

Notes for Stanley William "Bucky" Teachman:
Stanley Teachman, known as Buck to his family and friends, lived most of his life around
Tuscarora Township, Addison, working for different farmers, masons, and carpenters, learning the
building trade. After Buck left service in November 1933
he returned to Addison where he started building and repairing houses and working for different
contractors until he went to work for the Elkland Tannery in 1935. Buck was an avid outdoorsman
who loved the conty and its hills where he spent
most of his life. He was and did many things: a delivery boy, a cavalry man, a horse trainer,
boxer, contractor, railroad engineer, raised and trained pure-bred Walker Foxhounds. But it was
the hills that reached out to him and had the
strongest attraction for the young Bucky Teachman who said one day he would build his house
there in the antebellum architecture of southern homes he long admired. He was a man devoted to
his friends and family, always ready to lend a helping
hand. He lived a life full of accomplishments. Buck has often stated that his and Betty's greatest
accomplishment was the day in 1972 when they added the finishing touches on Stanbeth, a project,
which had taken them ten years to complete.
At one time it was considered a stagecoach stop because it was located midway between
Wellsboro and Bath. His passing will be a void in the mind and hearts of those who knew him
personnally; so it is with sadness that we say good-bye to a man
who was indeed, "A M an For All Seasons."
Source: Funeral Services memorial statement, 10 Feb 1999.
Note from grandniece, Regina Heffelfinger: Stanbeth was the name Stanley "Bucky" and Betty
gave their home, combining part of each of their given names. According to my grandfather,
Donald (brother to Stanley), Stanley was in the cavalry
stationed in Nebraska. My grandfather took the train to visit him there in the wilderness during the
                    1920s.
