Waterford Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes of the August 8, 2006 Meeting Chairman Sparks called a Waterford Parks and Recreation Commission regular meeting to order on August 8, 2006 at 6:45 p.m. in the Waterford Community Center, 540 ‘C’ Street, Waterford, CA 95386. ADOPTION OF THE REGULAR AGENDA: A motion was made by Commissioner Green and seconded by Commissioner See, to adopt the regular agenda. Vote 4-0.

Minutes of the last Regular Meeting held July 11, 2006: A Motion was made by Commissioner Green and seconded by Commissioner See to adopt consent calendar. Presentations: None. Communication from Audience: None. Unfinished Business: 4a. DISCUSSION: Basketball Program 2006 – Review of Revenue & Expenditures for the 2006 Season: Commissioner Self was absent for presentation and review. Discussion will be held over to next month’s meeting. DISCUSSION: Soccer Program 2006 – Review of Revenue & Expenditures for the 2006 Season: Donald Nall was absent for presentation and review. Secretary Cook stated the Program has received ample amount of sponsors but are still short three coaches. The fingerprinting for the coaches has been scheduled for this Saturday, August 12, 2006 around 11:30am. Further discussion will be held over to next month’s meeting. DISCUSSION: Relating to Use of Proposition 40 Grant Funds: Committee members correlated verbal ideas for improvements on all parks in Waterford. Notes were taken as a whole through City laptop and projector. Draft provided by Commissioner See. (See attached.)

New Business: 5a. DISCUSSION: Motion for removal of Commission member under ordinance 2.28.020B. Commissioner Holt-Kerns appeared before the Committee prior to the start of meeting to present her verbal resignation. She will mail her formal written resignation to City Hall at a later time. DISCUSSION: Minutes from City Council regarding Robert Weichert’s Volleyball Camp Proposal. Secretary Cook informed Committee of Mr. Weichert’s decision of removing his Volleyball Program this year. Remains interested in continuing contract procedures with the City for next years season. DISCUSSION: Resolution No. 2006-75: USA’s Elite Gymnastics’ Program. Secretary Cook informed Committee of City Council’s approval of Program. Jim Trost and the City Council are currently in negotiations of the contract. Classes will be held on Mondays and Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm providing 4 classes each day.
