a brief If you’re feeling like a beginner, try to:  develop an interesting heading scheme add images to the document create text box captions for the images Microsoft Word design tutorial Create an element Under the Insert menu (or on the quickbar)  Insert an image.  Insert (draw) a text box.  Insert (draw) a shape (line, arrow, box, circle). To resize any of these elements: Select the element, so that the select border (bright line or gray bar) with several points appears. Click on any of the points and drag until the element is resized.   To move the element on the page space: Select the element, click on the border away from any of the points and drag to the new location. Adjust an Element’s Properties Right-click on the element border and select “Format (element).” From the formatting menu:  You can give the element a background color.  You can give an element a border and choose its style, thickness, color.  You can also choose a text-wrapping rule (in front, behind, text-wrap, etc.) If you feel more ambitious, try to:  imitate a design scheme, style, genre you like use a grid layout, for a more sophisticated design  Coordinating Elements Ordering Elements Right-click on the element border and select “Order.” The order menu allows you to send in image forward, to the front, backward, or to the back. This allows you to control in which order multiple element overlap. Remember: Even the most sophisticated designs rely upon the same basic visual elements to produce their effects: font, image, line, shape, color. Grouping Elements Select multiple elements at once by holding shift while you click on each element. Once each element of the group is selected, right-click on one of the element borders and select to “Group” under “Grouping.”
