Dear American Club Members,
I just wanted to say Thank you to all who participated in the Thanksgiving party this year at Caxton College.
And a special thanks to the Caxton College directors and staff who helped make that event so special. This year we
had some families from Caxton college come as our guests to our Thanksgiving event. We have made some new
bonds and were able to share a bit of our tradition on this special day.
We had some special words offered at the beginning of the meal from Miguel Canet who blessed the food we
ate and allowed us to begin our festivity with the proper intentions, to be grateful for all we have around us and the
cherish the opportunity we have to be in wonderful company with one another that evening.
We had some raffles which helped liven up the event as well, a special thanks goes out to Agustin Peralt, from
Maxicarne, who donated the delicious ham which was the grand prizes raffled that night.
The Club was able to raise 100.00 euros which will be added to the Christmas party fundraisers in order to
make a larger donation to the various causes such as Agua-Limpia, Preventorio in Real de Gandia, and the Women
shelter in Valencia. Thanks for all your work and participation.
We were able to personally thank ACV members: David Sweeney for his continual help during the annual book
sale. Laurie Salvador for her leadership in organizing the Amazing Halloween party each year, Kristin Gullans for
constantly being at every event and a volunteer at all times, Goi for his help at all the events as well as for his expertise
with the Web page, Oscar Gorrita for his continual support in all the events setting up and taking down, Caxton College
for the continual use of their facilities.
We also want to thank all the founders of ACV, past officers, spouses of the past officers and founders because
we realize it is a lot of team work and sometimes it appears to go unnoticed. Others that need to be recognized are:
Andy Mac Leod for his graciousness with his farm each Halloween, Catalina Millan for all her hard work as the editor of
the newsletter during 2005 /2006 and present, Linda Casanova for continuing with the luncheons all these years and all
her hard work in the past with Thanksgiving and other events, Renee Rice for her work at the annual book sale, Susan
Haynes for her work with sending out the newsletter and maintaining the database accurate, Carmen Sanchez for
generosity in lending us her Institute to hold the annual book sale at each year. Without the efforts of these people the
club would not be here. Thanks again for your time, donations and energy.
The newly elected officers look forward to working with all the old and new members to make the club continue
I am honored to be part of this group.
