I.      RETIREMENTS - The committee endorsed the administration’s recommendation to
        approve the following retirements:
        A. Maribeth Petery – Grade 4 Highland, effective June 28, 2007.

II.     RESIGNATIONS
        A. Kathleen Stehman, Middle School Reading, effective October 5, 2006. (Kathleen is
           being held for 60 days or until a replacement is hired.)
        B. Kristie Wanner, Substitute Aide, effective October 20, 2006.
        C. Sherry Zubeck, Coordinator of Student Support Services, effective _____.

III.    LEAVES
        A. Jennifer Herman, requests a Medical Disability Leave/Family Medical Leave/Child
            Rearing Leave, effective December 23, 2006 through the conclusion of the
           2007-08 school year.

IV.     TRANSFERS–The committee endorsed the administration’s recommendation to approve
        the following transfers:
        A. Amy Ramos, transfer from Clay Playground Aide to Fulton Reading Aide, effective
           October 4, 2006 through the conclusion of the 2006-07 school year.

V.     APPOINTMENTS – The committee endorsed the administration’s recommendation to
       approve the following appointments:
        Professional
        A. Nancy Husson, LTS Part-time Nurse @ Step 1 BS / Compact 1 BS ($38,180)
           prorated, effective August 23, 2006 through the conclusion of the 2006-07
           school year.
           Background Information
           Nancy will fill vacancy from Carol Fesko’s retirement.

        B. Hannah Millard, LTS Elementary Art @ Step 1 BS / Compact 1 BS ($38,180),
           effective August 24, 2006 through the conclusion of the 2006-07 school year.
           Background Information
           Hannah will replace Amy Bruce while she is on leave.

BOARD DISCUSSION ITEMS

I.       Highly Qualified Teacher Update – The requirements for highly qualified teachers were
         reviewed with the committee. A letter is being sent home with students of teachers who do
         not meet the requirements set by the government. A copy of the letter is attached to these
         minutes.

II.      Physicals – Mr. Witmer reviewed the PIAA sports physical requirements with the
         committee.

III.     ImPACT Program – Mr. Witmer discussed the benefits of the ImPACT Program and having
         our athletes participate in the program. It provides a more scientific way to handle
         concussioned athletes and their safe return to competition. This program provides the best
         available information for managing concussions and preventing potential brain damage that
         can occur with multiple concussions.
