Associate Degree Scholarships
• Up to $30,000 awarded annually
• $1,000 scholarships

Baccalaureate Degree Scholarships
• Nearly $150,000 awarded annually
• $5,000-$7,500 scholarships

• Phi Theta Kappa offers both merit-based and
  need-based scholarships for associate degree
  course work, and completion of baccalaureate

• There are a number of scholarship programs,
  and award amounts vary from $1,000 to $7,500
  depending on the program.

  Community College Academic Team, the Coca-Cola All-

  American Association of Community Colleges, Phi Theta
  Kappa and USA TODAY. Each year team members
  receive coverage in USA TODAY.

• Honors Institute     Members of Alpha Chi Zeta, Seattle Central Community College,
                       & Pi Iota, Shoreline Community College , Whidbey Island ferry,
• Across the Society, chapters unite in exploring
  the same theme for Honors in Action. This year
  our study theme, known as the Honors Study
  Topic, is about The Democratization of

• Chapters and members are encouraged to
  explore the Honors Study Topic, then develop
  projects that incorporate the Society’s
  Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service
  and Fellowship for their college and community.
• To complement the study, Phi Theta Kappa produces
  Honors Seminars, which are broadcast each fall. The
  seminars feature experts on the Honors Study Topic
  and provide opportunities for discussion across the
  nation and abroad.

• Phi Theta Kappa also offers you the opportunity to
  attend the Society’s premier scholarly event – the
  International Honors Institute. As a participant, you will
  engage in a week of in-depth study and discussion of
  the Honors Study Topic while networking with
  members throughout the Society. The Honors
  Institute is held at a different university each June.

• Nota Bene is Phi Theta Kappa’s annual literary
  anthology which recognizes the outstanding writing of
  members and demonstrates to the literary public the
  academic excellence found at community colleges.

• Each year Phi Theta Kappa selects approximately 30
  literary works for publication in Nota Bene. Authors of
  manuscripts judged most outstanding are awarded
  scholarships totaling $3,000.

• In addition to the opportunities for scholarships, Nota
  Bene provides Phi Theta Kappa members with the
  experience of being published in an academic journal
  that is distributed to more than 2,000 college libraries.

• The Case Study Challenge gives you an
  opportunity to gain valuable experience in
  academic research using USA TODAY

• The Challenge awards $2,000 in stipends
  annually. Authors of the top four case studies
  receive stipends of $500 each, presented
  during Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention,
  and their case studies are published on the
  USA TODAY collegiate academic website.

    Eligibility Requirements

• 3.5 Cumulative GPA

• 12 Hours of Associate Degree
• Generally, members must achieve a 3.5
  cumulative grade point average, and have
  completed at least 12 hours of associate
  degree coursework.

• Part-time and online students are eligible.

• Students are not required to be United States
  citizens to accept membership. As long as the
  student possesses all rights of citizenship in his
  or her country, the student would meet the
  citizenship requirement for membership

                St. Francis Cathedral, Santa Fe
• Membership requires a one-time membership
  fee consisting of an International Fee -$45,
  Regional Fee - $6, and Local Fee - $14.
• Cash , credit cards and checks are
• Checks for the total one-time membership fee
  of $65.00 should be made payable to National
  Park Community College and submitted to the
  NPCC Business Office by 3:00 p.m., Monday,
  27 April 2010.
• No applications or fees will be accepted
  after this date.

• The Induction Ceremony publicly
  recognizes the academic achievement of
  members. Our Induction Ceremony date,
  time & location will be announced later.

• Members may invite family and friends to
  the Induction Ceremony to join in this
  special celebration.
