TINLEY PARK, Ill.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Panduit Corp., a global leader in Unified Physical
InfrastructureSM (UPI) based solutions, is showcasing its UPI approach in the Cisco Pavilion at World Expo 2010
in Shanghai. The Cisco Pavilion highlights the role of the network in the Smart+Connected Life of the year 2020, and
in particular how advanced data center virtualization technology can be a key enabler for delivering cloud computing
services in a Smart+Connected Community (S+CC).

Panduit UPI-based solutions leverage an optimized physical infrastructure as the foundation to enable convergence
across communication, computing, control, power and security systems. These end-to-end solutions drive
operational and financial advantages across the enterprise, allowing businesses to improve reliability, reduce costs,
heighten agility and support sustainability initiatives.

In the Cisco Pavilion at Expo 2010, Panduit’s UPI-based Smart Data Center solution is being deployed as an
optimized infrastructure for the implementation of the pre-configured data center solution. This solution integrates
virtualization, networking, compute, storage, security, and management technologies in pre-engineered, tested, and
validated infrastructure packages as a way to accelerate organizations’ migration to virtualization and private clouds.
By helping organizations and communities migrate from physical to virtual machines, cloud solutions improve server
utilization, reducing energy consumption and improving service delivery to help realize the vision of a Better City,
Better Life.

“Panduit and Cisco share a similar vision: to help transform physical communities into connected communities that
realize sustainable economic growth, improved resource management, and a better quality of life,” said Ron
Partridge, Panduit VP of Global Sales and Marketing. “By participating in Expo 2010, Panduit is proud to help
showcase creative networking infrastructure solutions which optimize delivery of cloud-based data center services
and change the ways people connect, communicate, and collaborate.” These collaborative solutions are previewed in
the on-site video on Panduit’s YouTube channel.

Building a smart and connected community requires a combination of specialized partners with a broad range of
complementary skills in hardware, application development, installation and managed services. Panduit, Cisco, and
ecosystem partners provide the infrastructure to manage all of the communications — machine-to-human, human-to-
human and machine-to-machine — required by a smart and connected community. Panduit and other S+CC partner
ecosystem solutions deployed at World Expo 2010 provide a proof of concept environment for a smart and
connected community.

“The service delivery platform is the basis of a smart and connected community,” said Anthony Elvey, director of the
Cisco Pavilion. “The Panduit and Cisco teams worked together to get the cloud computing structure right, and
determined how the networks, collaboration technologies, and most importantly the data center all integrate to
deliver seamless cloud-based computing services in a smart and connected environment.”

As the leading provider of physical infrastructure solutions, Panduit’s Smart Data Center solutions support cloud
offerings by aligning the physical infrastructure to the logical systems architecture through optimized reference
architectures that are mapped to industry wide best practices. “When you start to virtualize, knowing the physical
location of your equipment is hugely important,” said Partridge. “Panduit’s UPI infrastructure allows you to track
data center assets by building intelligence into the physical infrastructure that is then integrated up into the network
layer, so you know at all times the status of your entire network, not just logically but physically.”

Panduit has established long-term collaborative relationships with global industry leaders such as Cisco to develop
and integrate innovative, holistic solutions for solving customers’ greatest business challenges. Customers and
