CAREER PATHWAYS FACT SHEET History: The Career Pathways program started as a result of extensive research on employment growth sectors in Beaufort County and the surrounding areas. It was concluded that the healthcare field is the fastest growing job sector. The Career Pathways program is a series of connected educational programs, with integrated work experience, on-the-job training, and support services that enables participants to combine school and work and advance over time to sustainable careers. Goals: Achieve sustainable wages in a career in nursing Formulate a collaborative committee of Healthcare professionals to serve as an Advisory Board Understand and assist with employer needs (employability skills) Assist employers in the understanding of employee needs (benefits, wages, etc.) Make Career Pathways a one-stop shop for potential employees and employers in the Healthcare field Research and offer scholarships both federal and private dollars to assist individuals in completing their education Offer peer mentoring program Guidelines: Career Pathways 1: o Individual is interested in a Nursing career, however they desire to start with receiving their NA1 certification Career Pathways 2: o Individual is interested in a Nursing career and has successfully completed NA1 certification and now desires to receive NA2 certification Career Pathways 3: o Individual is interested in a Nursing career and would like to enroll in school (Note: enrolling into the Career Pathways program is contingent upon individual agreeing to completing and receiving degree in Nursing in order to receive sustainable wages in the healthcare sector.)
