This lesson is an extension of the “shared reading” Exploring
Rocks. You can do this lesson one of two ways or a combination
of both.
Our class talked about rocks and made a word bank of
adjectives describing rocks. I also made a transparency of
Exploring Rocks. As a whole group, we underlined any words we
found that were rock adjectives, then added them to our adjective
word bank. We took those adjectives and placed them into a
ROCK POEM.
The students had fun choosing their favorite adjective and
everyone got a copy to take home.
