Protecting Your Not-for-Profit Status: Understanding the New IRS Form 990
Thursday, May 29, 2008
1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Duration: 90 minutes
For the first time in over 25 years, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has substantially revised the Form 990 tax
filing document for tax-exempt organizations. The changes have been made with three goals in mind: to enhance
transparency, promote compliance and minimize an organization’s filing burden.
This audio conference will outline what providers need to know to comply with the new form and maintain their
not-for-profit status. Attendees will hear from a panel of experts who will discuss the substantive changes to an
organization’s identifying information, governance practices and reporting schedules
Join us on Thursday, May 29 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time
• Hear about the extensive revisions to the federal tax return Form 990 for exempt organizations and
the penalties for non-compliance.
• Learn what your organization needs to do to meet the new requirements.
• Explore ways for aging services providers to support their not-for-profit status and enhance their
community benefit by “telling their story” on the new Form 990 narrative section.
