                          BCSC Scholarship Application Tip Sheet

Although the reasons for disqualification of BCSC scholarship applications are printed on the
application, we still receive a number of applications each year, which do not meet our criteria.
We hope the following tip sheet will increase your chances of successfully applying for a BCSC
scholarship.

To apply for a BCSC scholarship you must be a resident of the Berlin School District and/or a
graduate of Berlin High School. You must be a full time student enrolled in undergraduate studies
when you apply and when you receive your scholarship money. The BCSC Scholarship Application
Form is for post-high school students only (high school graduating seniors may apply for BCSC
scholarships by using the Berlin High Scholarship form available from the school office).

    1. Complete the current (2010 Berlin Community Scholarship Application Form), which can be
obtained from the Berlin Community Scholarship Corporation’s website: www.berlincsc.com.
Limit your essay to one page; failure to do so will disqualify your application.

    2. Mail your most recent OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT together with the application.
Your official transcript MUST be obtained from the Records Department at your school.
Transcripts obtained online or grade/progress reports are not official and will disqualify your
       application.

    3. Mail the completed BCSC application together with your most recent official college transcript to
BCSC, PO Box 51, Berlin, WI 54923. Failure to send these two documents together will
       disqualify your application.

    4. Mail your completed documents EARLY! Do not wait until the postmark deadline
of April 1 st to mail. Large envelopes or materials weighing over 1 ounce require extra
stamps so it is safest to have the post office attach the postage. Applications will be
disqualified for arriving late due to insufficient postage, being misaddressed or postmarked after
        the April 1st deadline.

                                                                                                            2
