Professional Sand Sculpture Stuff
Ingredients: 10 parts sand 1 part white glue 3 parts water No more washed away sand castles! This mixture of sand and glue will help hold your work of art together. Mix sand, water and glue together in a large bucket. If the mixture is too thick, add more water. Expect your sand sculpture to last weeks — even if it rains!
Indoor Sand Sculpture Stuff
Ingredients: 2 cups clean, fine sand (from the beach or garden center…no ―dirt‖) 1 cup cornstarch 1 cup water Old pan and spoon Bring the beach inside — even in the winter! The cornstarch in this recipe holds the sand together. Mix all three ingredients over a low heat (200 degrees). Remove when the mixture firms. Cool. Now you can use various utensils to carve out your creation.
Sand Sculpture Secrets
The bigger the base the more sturdy the sand sculpture. Use a variety of tools – for molding, shaping, and ―carving‖. (Any ‗non-sharp‘ odd thing from the kitchen/garage will get you going…Don‘t forget those gelatin molds and cookie cutters.)
