Use this page to see interesting facts about the monsters and learn how much mana you need to bolt them. BE SURE TO
CHANGE THE "MANA X" AND "MONSTER LEVEL" ABOVE for bolts to be accurate (see below for instructions). I typically
keep this sheet open while playing and when I see a monster I scroll to the monster on this sheet to view their stats and info.
This list shows monsters in alphabetical order.
Mana Bolt Calculation Instructions: Change the numbers under "Mana X" and "Monster Level" in the yellow boxes above as
necessary. "Monster level" is the level of monster you are fighting. "Mana X" represents how much each bolt of mana can
damage. This typically starts around 8 for Saiyan and 5 for Giants and goes up as the player's magic level increases. Since
the same amount of mana will create different size bolts each time this is never exact. Put your low estimate in here.
To calculate the "Mana X" factor cast a size 10 mana bolt against a small monster(s) 5 times (e.g. against a stirge, cricket,
moron, centipede, etc.). Take the lowest number you see for mana bolt power, divide by 10 and put that number in the Mana
X cell above. If you hit for 64, 92, 84, 78 and 81, then put 6.4 in the mana x box above (64/10=6.4). Redo this calculation
every time you gain 10 levels or so. With these two numbers correct you'll always know how much mana to use to bolt a
monster. You may want to use a bit extra to be especially sure that you will kill the monster on the first try. Use the number
highlighted in ORANGE as the amount of Mana you use to Bolt the monster.
Monsters highlighted in Red are very dangerous and should be bolted immediately. Monsters in Organge are also dangerous,
but with experience you can deal with them using other spells once you reach a high level. When starting off it is safer to bolt
them. When you run low on mana go to the store and buy more.
To Call a monster from a scroll, use the number on the left side (this is for P-Ultimate only. P4 uses different numbering).
Read the notes on the right of each monster. They can tell you a lot about the monster.

As you may know… BRAINS - tells you chance of lucking out monster, SPEED tells how fast they are, ENERGY shows the
points to kill them (see total energy on left), EXPERIENCE shows how much experience you gain (x monster level),
TREASURE TYPE shows what type of treasure they may carry (see other tab at bottom for list of treasures), FLOCK %
shows likelihood of another of same monster following this one.

If you are good with excel, you may want to reorder this list in different ways to see the list by monster number, by treasure
type, by brains, speed, tec.
Column A (hidden) shows P4 numbers for these monsters (but some of the number are a little different for P4 monsters.
Read the P-Ultaimte Rules thoroughly - it will help tremendously. Read the Updates regularly as well - lots of good tips and
hints in there.

Thaumaturgist can transport a player. Bolt them straight off! If you get teleported use 'teleport' to get back, or cload youself as you move back in.

What level monster should I fight?
This will depend on your character. For Saiyans, Fighters and Giants this should work well.

Lucking Out Monsters
A fighter with good brains or Sayian should be able to luckout: Snotgurgles,
Bonnacons, Cinomulgi, Idiots, Jello Blobs, Jubjub Birds, Cocodrills, Trolls, Smeagol,
Vortexes, Jack-in-Irons. The operative word is “should”. Make sure you have good
brains, you have set up a force field, and have enough energy to take a blow before you
try it.

On Fighting Flockers
The best flockers and the ones worth fighting are Wargs and Orcs.
You can fight stirges early on for stuff, but they'll make you degen VERY quickly.

What level monster to fight
Fight where you have enough mana to kill 2 Leanan-Sidhe.

Where are differen places?                                      Have at least:
Near Realm -- See Map Below
Mines of Moria       Monster levels 10 and 11
The Outer Waster Monster levels 12 through 19
Low Marches             1700, 1700                              2-3 K shield
Careful of Sirens, Lampreys, Kopoacinths, but especially Aspidchelones.
Bolt them or ff, paralyze and evade if you have no mana to bolt.
Plateau of Gorogoth Around 2500, 2500 and that area
Cracks of Doom           Near Gorogoth
High Marches             3100, 3100 and down to around 2900 4-5 K Shield
Luckout and bolt size 35s.
Morannon 3,100 3,100 and up for a few levels                    6-8 K shield

This is more, but I haven't made it much beyond this….
What Stats are most important when creating a new character?
Don't settle for anything less than the highest speed.
Most other stats should be near the top. It takes a while, but it is worth it.
Make sure the players key strengths are near the top (e.g. strenght for fighter, magic for mage).
Don't worry about the amount of mana starting out - it's not important.

Winning Quest 5: You won't find a doctor unless you have poison. To win this I usually get some sin (so I won't get
cured of my poison), then I find a spider or lamprey and rest instead of fighting them until they poison me - get a lot lik
or .9 or more (make sure you don't have any charms or they'll be used to protect you). Then instead of fighting mons
I walk around until a doctor finds me. Once you find a doctor go back and get your blessing.
I typically turn off the 'auto virgin' and 'auto pillage' to get and keep sin while on my doctor hunt.
Another good way to get poison is to use all your charms and then hit cursed treasure (which is sometimes easier sa
than done).

holy water - kills assorted faeries.

buckler - a shield of a specific strength that you can use

haste - greatly increases a character's quickness for the next battle.

staff - allows the player to become steward by going to (0,0) when there is no king or queen.

Wayland Smith - improves a character's shield, sword or quicksilver.
