Request for Proposal N1106100004 Page 1 of 7 Project Title: Gulf Islands National Seashore, Davis Bayou Visitor Center, Multimedia Programs Park: Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS) Program Numbers: MM-0058 and MM-0059 I. BACKGROUND Gulf Islands National Seashore stretches 160 miles from Cat Island in Mississippi to the eastern tip of Santa Rosa Island in Florida. There are snowy-white beaches, sparkling blue waters, fertile coastal marshes, and dense maritime forests. Visitors can explore 19th century forts, enjoy shaded picnic areas, hike on winding nature trails, and camp on Perdido Key and all Mississippi barrier islands except West Ship Island. In addition, Horn and Petit Bois Islands located in Mississippi are federally designated wilderness areas. Nature, history, and recreational opportunities abound in this national treasure. The William M. Colmer Visitor Center (also known as the Davis Bayou Visitor Center) in Ocean Springs, Mississippi is located in the Davis Bayou area of Gulf Islands National Seashore. This is the third visitor center to undergo exhibit renovations since the catastrophic hurricanes of 2004 and 2005. The facility has now been renovated and repaired and new exhibits have been designed. Fabrication of exhibits will begin by the end of 2009 with installation scheduled for September 2010. The Multimedia programs designed for inclusion in the new exhibits will be produced under this Task Order. Other AV programs will be produced under the AV IDIQ Contract. PURPOSE The purpose of this task order is to produce two touchscreen computer interactive programs for the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Request for Proposal N1106100004 Page 2 of 7 III. SCOPE OF WORK In accordance with the terms and conditions of the above-referenced contract, the contractor shall provide the National Park Service with all labor, materials, services and facilities necessary to produce two touchscreen computer interactive programs for the Davis Bayou Visitor Center, Gulf Islands National Seashore in accordance with Attachment A of your basic contract entitled, “National Park Service Standard Specifications for Audiovisual Production and Multimedia Planning, Design and Production Services with Installation, dated August 26, 2008. The program MM contractor will write short, simple greetings for use in the interactive. The Resolution: design will include an on-screen keyboard 1920 x1200 for program use only. The “Postcard Station” will be connected to the Internet allowing visitors to email their postcards upon completion.
