             Education

                             ?

Directions: The class will be split up into two groups. One group will
research what technology education is and the other group will research
what engineering is. During your research, list five terms that are
associated with technology education or engineering, which ever one you are
doing research on. Also, explain why it is.

(Note: After students have completed the handout, have them print out the
words or find pictures associated with the words. Students will then place
them on a Venn diagram that will be posted on a bulletin board. Students will
have to explain the rationale for putting it into that category or overlapping
category. Class discussion will follow.)

Standard 3: Students will develop an understanding of the relationships among
technologies and the connections between technology and other fields of study.
        Benchmarks:
               H. Technological innovation often results when ideas, knowledge, or skills
are shared within a technology, among technologies, or across other fields.
               J. Technological progress promotes the advancement of science and
mathematics.
