SPORTS PROGRAM NEWS
WELCOME BACK TO A FUN-FILLED SPORTS PROGRAM
I hope you all had a wonderful, active and healthy summer. This fall and winter we have lots of opportunities for our students
to expand their knowledge and ability in several different sports programs. The most important emphasis in our sports program
is to help students develop and improve skills, game knowledge and participation. We want every student who has an interest
to be able to play on a BSS team. The more teams and coaches we have, the more we can develop our players. We will
continue to have our elementary level programs place the greatest emphasis on skill development and equal playing time, so
that they can be prepared to play at a more competitive level in middle school.
BASKETBALL NEWS
GIRLS’ & BOY’S INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL TEAMS TO BEGIN PLAY ON SEPTEMBER 19 & 26
Thanks to Director of Basketball, Coach John DiCalogero, we will continue to have an expanded girls’ and boys’ basketball
program. Boys in grades 7 & 8 and girls in grades 6, 7 & 8, interested in playing, must submit registration and medical
forms by September 12, and must attend the evaluation practice on September 13, to ensure evenly balanced teams. Please
look for times and registration information in your September packet or go to Sports on the BSS web site for copies of the
forms. There will be an evaluation prior to the first game to help balance the ability levels of the teams. Boys in grades 3, 4, 5,
& 6 and girls in grades 3, 4 & 5, must send in registration forms by September 12, and will begin practices the week of
September 18. All programs will emphasize skill development for each participant through a combination of practices and
games. All registrations must be to the school office by Friday, September 12th. Please call John DiCalogero at 508-668-
7983 with any questions. See below for practice and game times.
