October Newsletter by sensz

									                   October Newsletter
Looking back on the last month, I realize how much we have done and how
well my “kids” are working together, sharing new experiences, and
joyfully becoming the learners we want them to be! I am excited with
their progress! I can see, from their cooperative work behavior, that
we will have lots of great learning opportunities together. 

There are many times I wish you could see your children so engaged in
their own discoveries! I have the privilege of setting up the activity
and then standing by and observing the learning that is taking place.
It is truly awesome! I am looking forward to sharing these observations
at conferences!

A special “thank you” to Mark Bauer, Phil Chronister and Grandpa Bob,
(Peyden’s grandfather), for spending time with the kids last week prior
to Dad’s Day. They truly enjoyed learning from you!

This month, we will be observing changes in our seasons. Fall is a
wonderful time to be a child! We will be going on nature walks,
collecting leaves, seed pods etc. to group together into a collage.

We will continue to work on fine motor development as well as
writing our names, practicing cutting on lines and having different
experiences with numerals, pattern blocks, graphing, weighing and
measuring. Next Monday, Oct. 4th, I will begin introducing the letter of
the week. Each Friday, I will let you know what letter we will be
studying the following week and on Monday, your child may bring an
object that begins with the sound we will be learning. We will begin
with letter L, so on Monday, please send something beginning with the
L sound. 
I would like to thank Suzanne Vaupel for the work she is doing by
keeping my pictures uploaded to Picasa each week. If you have not yet
checked out the pictures on my website ,there are several folders of
school activities and events for you to see! Also, thanks to Phil
Chronister for creating a group e-mail of parent addresses! I have found
e-mail to be a great way to communicate classroom events and
