Paperless Training — and More
By Deborah Moore Decades ago, all the experts said we were headed for the “paperless office.” That prophecy has taken a bit longer to realize than anticipated, but the electronic information age indeed has arrived, and companies like mine, AccuStat EMR, are easing the transition for health care providers of all sizes who would rather focus their energies on the hands-on service delivery to their patients and clients than grapple with the vagaries of computer coding, data capture, and Internet security. During my many years in the nursing field, I came to appreciate the need for quality medical records management. That appreciation eventually became a vocation when my humble medical transcription business was born. What a difference the years have made! AccuStat EMR today is a southern-based business that has quickly grown beyond the boundaries of its geographic origins to span the entire United States. We now offer a complete range of services, including: business consultation; software sales, installation, training, and support; network consultation, sales, support, and implementation; financing options; remote, phone and in-house IT support, Web site development and Web links for medical and legal practices; as well as HIPAA training and consultation. This win-win range of services ultimately saves our clients hundreds of thousands of dollars every month through partner discounts and waived fees. In most cases, clients can obtain products and services at a lower cost by using AccuStat EMR. AccuStat EMR’s business focus is convenience for medical and legal offices/systems across the country. Few consumers travel to a farm to purchase vegetables, to a dairy for milk, to a butcher for meat, and then to a bakery for bread to procure items on one grocery list; most go to the grocery store and get all of their items in one place. AccuStat EMR delivers the same convenience through the streamlined delivery of goods and services for medical and legal practices. Through partnerships with medical societies, EMR companies, ASP hosts, computer, and hardware distributors, as well as many other product and service owners, AccuStat EMRs medical and legal clients can obtain all the products and services that they need to make their offices more efficient and less costly from one convenient source. AccuStat EMR recently was recognized by the South Carolina Small Business Administration as its 2007 Business Person of the Year, Runner Up. This award belongs not just to me but to our amazing employees, who all share the same business vision for AccuStat EMR. Our success and growth have been possible by their hard work and dedication. Chief Operating Officer Stevie Park, Chief Financial Officer Terrie McDowell, Chief Information Officer Brian Gause, and our newest addition, Donna Bryant, are the backbone of this company.
I believe that success is measured in many ways by many people. AccuStat EMR measures its success by seeing their clients save time and money, by celebrating the return on their investment in action. Members of the healthcare field have a natural desire to help people. This has been the standard of my career since I started nursing 14 years ago. Now it continues through AccuStat EMR. Members of our staff succeed for our clients because we never say we can’t do it. No matter how, when, or where, AccuStat EMR always can get the task done for the continued support and success of its clients. Moore is president of AccuStat EMR, which is based in Myrtle Beach.
