I write to write The word invents me words they plague and captivate me The word ties and cuts my tongue Words that rend me come to the ancient wise ones branding their temples in an arcane lexicon My word escapes it’s recovered in the mouths catches itself in the voice a word that now names revealing the limits of the desert feeds the sonnambulists serves them life next to their rice
