Expa ndable Digita l Cor dless Answering System with 3 Handsets
With the handset buttons facing you, the Ringer/Message/Charge indicator is on the top left. Just below
the top o f the handset face is an o val depression. This is the earpiece.
The smooth surface below the earpiece is the display; i ts upper edge is defined by a slight ridge just in
the center of the handset below the earpiece.
Below the display are three buttons in a horizontal row. The left and right but tons are the soft ke ys. In the
middle is the MENU button. Each soft ke y is used to select the function shown on the display directl y
above it. If you subscribe to Caller ID service , “View C ID” is displayed above the left soft ke y while the
unit is in standby mode to indicate tha t it serves as the Caller ID information review ke y. “Phonebook” is
displayed above the right soft ke y to indicate that i t serves as the phonebook select ke y.
In the center o f the handset, just below these three buttons, is the Navigator ke y. The surface o f this key
is slightly conca ve. The navigator ke y can be used to na vigate through menus and to select items shown
on the display b y pressing up, down, left , or right. To adjust the recei ver or speaker volume, press up to
increase the volume, or press down to decrease the volume repeatedly while talking.
The upper-left button of the na vigator ke y is the TALK button which has a raised dot, and the upper-right
one is the OFF button which has a raised bar.
Below the TALK button is the Speakerphone button . On the opposite side, to the lower right of the
navigator ke y is the PAU SE button. It also serves as the REDIAL button .
Below these buttons is the telephone keypad. It is laid out in the conven tional telephone arrangement
with a raised dot on the “5” button. The * (star) button in the lower left corner of the ke ypad also serves
as the TONE button.
Below the ke ypad are two small buttons. On the left is the FL ASH button. It also serves as the CALL
WAIT bu tton. On the right is the H OLD button . It also serves as the INTERCOM button.
In the center o f the lowest part of the handset face between the FL ASH and H OLD buttons , there is a
small indentation. This is the microphone. The two metal ridges on the bottom surface of the handset are
the charge contacts.
On the left side of the handset is the headset jack. It is located parallel to the left soft ke y. The headset
jack co ver can be opened from top to bottom and cannot be removed.
On each side of the handset is a catch for the belt clip. You can hang the handset on your belt or pocket
using the supplied belt clip.
The te xtured area in the center of the handset back panel is the handset speaker.
Just below the handset speaker is the battery compartment. Its upper edge is located parallel to the
TALK button and the OFF button and has a notched area on it.
The handset’s charging cradle is on the left side of the base unit. The two metal ridges on the bottom of
the cradle are the charge contacts.
The handset is placed in the cradle with the handset’s buttons facing you . The handset will beep when
the handset is properly placed in the cradle for charging. The te xtured area on the upper side of the
cradle is the base unit speaker.
On the right side of the cradle are the base unit buttons.
At the center of the arrangement of bu ttons is the message button. This button also serves as the
message indicator. It will flash when new messages have been recorded. Surrounding the message
button is the na vigator ke y. The surface of this ke y is slightly concaved . By pressing it up or down
repeatedly during a call, the speaker volume can be adjusted, and while receiving a call, the ringer
volume can also be adjusted.
The left side of the na vigator ke y is the repeat button. It is used to repeat messages recorded on the
answering system. The right side of the na vigator button is the skip button. It is used to skip messages
recorded on the answering system.
Surrounding the navigator button are four curved buttons. At top-left is the ER ASE button . At bottom-left
is the STOP button. At bottom-right is the LOCATOR/INTERCOM button . At top-right is the ANSWER ON
button. The ANSWER ON indicator is at the top-right o f the ANSWER ON button and is slightly
Abo ve these buttons are two small round buttons in a horizontal row.
The GREETIN G REC button is on the left and the GREETING CHECK button is on the right.
The microphone is located on the bottom-right side of the base unit.
With the charger unit facing you , the handset’s charging cradle is in the center of the unit. The handset
stands upright in the cradle with the display facing forward. The two metal ridges on the bottom of the
cradle are the charge contacts.
