VISIONS! Teaching materials for Christian Cell groups and home groups. ___________ Teaching articles Bible references Questions for Group Discussions Take care of your vision! Nr 1 Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden email@example.com God is so good to us, and His thoughts for us are also always good! He has chosen us and has a wonderful plan for our lives! He wants to put His will and His visions for us in our hearts, so we can become one with His plans! We are created with a purpose Eph. 2:10, Joh. 4:34 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Eph 2:10 KJV) Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. (Joh 4:34 KJV) There is a thought, a purpose with our lives. God has given us each and every one, unique qualities that he intends for us to use in a certain way. When we do what we are created for, we feel that our lives are meaningful, we will be satisfied and the joy of the Lord fills our lives! God gives us visions Hab. 2:1-3, Act. 2:17 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. (Hab 2:1-4 KJV) And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (Act 2:17 KJV) There are different ways for God to lead us into His plans. He plants a vision in our hearts, and than we have to take that and act on it! God spoke to the prophet Habakkuk through a vision, and promised that what he had seen should be fulfilled. God has always been speaking to people through visions and dreams, and when the Holy Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost Peter preached and said that now is the time for Gods people to receive visions and dreams! What God gives to us is precious. Proverbs 4:20-21, Mark 4:13-20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden firstname.lastname@example.org find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Pro 4:20-23 KJV) And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. (Mar 4:13-20 KJV) We should be careful about every word that God has spoken to us. We should take care of it and consider it very precious. That counts for the written word of God of course, but also for the special words that we receive in different ways. We know that our enemy always wants to steal from us the word of God, so we need to guard ourselves and not let him steal our visions. Keep you vision before your eyes. Hab. 2:2, And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. (Hab. 2:2 KJV) I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Hab. 2:1-3 KJV) We shall keep our visions just before our eyes. Means we need to focus on it, think the vision, don’t let go of it! Habakkuk was told to write it down so it could easily be seen and read. I think we need to do that. There are many things today that want to distract us, and it is very easy to lose focus, and only we ourselves can do something about that! If we let go of what God has spoken, it will slip out of our hands. We no longer look for Gods guidance, we lose the interceding for the vision and circumstances take over! A person with a vision is hard to stop! Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden email@example.com If you ever run into a person with a really strong vision, you know that this person is really hard to stop! A vision has its own power to conquer everything if you follow it! Question for discussion in the group: Have you ever experienced that God has given you dreams and visions? Have you seen any of those fulfilled, or do you have things on your heart that you expect shall happen? Have you ever had a vision that you let go of? What can we do to change that? What is the hardest thing when God put something on your heart? To remember it? To hold on to it? To really believe that it will come to pass? Take care of your vision! Nr 1 Wait for the fulfillment in the right way God speaks to us through visions and dreams. He plants a word and expects that we cooperate with Him. God promise the fulfillment of the vision if we hold on to His word! It is a part of the vision to wait! Hab. 2:3, Isaiah40: 28-31 Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden firstname.lastname@example.org I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. (Hab. 2:1-4 KJV) Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isa 40:28-31 KJV) It is natural…we need to wait for the vision to be fulfilled. First we have it on our hearts, and then after a while we can see it come to pass. Often gradually. I guess there are visions that come to pass immediately, but I think we can call that rare! Often we think that this is the hardest thing. To wait for it. But it is all about waiting the right way! Isaiah says that if we are waiting for the Lord, we will renew our strength, we must let our wings out and God will lift us! There is a way to wait that is not frustrating and stressful. It is a kind of waiting that has Gods supernatural rest in it. Do not lose your vision if you fail! Rom 11:29, Hebr.10:35, For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. (Rom 11:29 KJV) Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. (Heb 10:35 KJV) Even if you fail, the vision is still there. God is a God of ”one more time”! He never gives up on you! During some period of time it might seem like the vision is gone, maybe it is because people had a lot of opinions, or maybe you thought it looked to impossible. The reasons could be many. But if a vision is from God, it is still there. It belongs to you, and you know that this is exactly what you want to do! You could need some boldness when it is time to pick your vision up again! If I have fallen into the pit were I just have been speaking negative about it, like: it will never happen, it was not God, it was jut my own will, or; God cannot use me to do something like this, it might be hard to once again say: Yes I believe the vision God put into my heart! I know it is God, so I am not willing to let go of it. Bur do it any way, dare to pick your vision up again! Your boldness will bring great reward! Prepare for some hard times! Gen 37:5-11,18ff, Rom 8:28, Rom. 8:31ff Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden email@example.com And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying. (Gen 37:5-11 KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Rom 8:28 KJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justified. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:31-39 KJV) Joseph was the man with very clear dreams. He saw in a dream that his sheaves raised and that his brother’s sheaves bowed down for his. When he told the dream for his family, they didn’t exactly rejoice with him! His brothers got angry and trough him into a pit. Not until many years later, after a lot of hardships, Joseph stood in the place that God called Him to be. Then it turned out that way, that all that he went through was a part of the destiny for Joseph. That he was sold to Egypt was in Gods plan, because God needed Him there in the right time! That is why it is so important to keep our eyes upon Gods promise, no matter our circumstances! When it is the right time, the puzzle is finished, and I can se the vision fulfilled! Questions for the group: What is the hardest thing with waiting? Describe the feeling to have something on your heart that no one else understands! Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden firstname.lastname@example.org Do you think that we give up to easily when it comes to prophetic words we have received? Is it hard to think that even those difficulties we go through, can lead us to actually see the vision fulfilled? Do you have any example? What are you doing now with the word God has put on your heart? Copyright Inspiration Media, Sweden email@example.com
