         to say that a product is “impervious”

    US TEST METHODS
    Test                    Description
    US ASTM   Resistance    Measures the resistance of materials to Penetration by Synthetic
    F1670     to Blood      Blood.
              Penetration   A fabric is clamped to a test cell and exposed to 55-60 ml of synthetic
                            blood for one hour. During that hour, the liquid pressure is raised to 2
                            pounds per square inch for five minutes, and then left at normal air
                            pressure for the remainder of the time.
                            After the hour, if there is no visible evidence of synthetic blood
                            penetrating the sample, the fabric "passes" the test


    US ASTM   Resistance    Measures the resistance of materials to Viral Penetration.
    F1671     to            Fabrics are challenged on one side (i.e. - outside of a gown) with viral
              penetration   solution under pressure of 2 psi for five minutes and then allowed to
              by            sit for 55 minutes at normal pressure. The surface of the opposite
              bloodborne    side of the fabric (i.e. - the inside of the gown) then undergoes a
              pathogens     culturing process to detect the presence of the viral challenge
                            solution. Results are then recorded as pass or fail

      EU TEST METHODS
    Test                          Description
    Hydrohead       Resistance    Measures the resistance of fabrics to liquid penetration by water
    test            to Blood &    under constantly increasing hydrostatic pressure.
    (EN 20811)      body fluids   A fabric sample is subjected to water pressure which is increased
                                  at a constant rate until leakage appears on the outer surface of the
                                  fabric sample. The head height results are then recorded in
                                  centimeters of water pressure on the fabric sample.
                                  A higher value indicates greater resistance to water penetration.

    Wet Microbial   Resistance    Used to determine a fabric's resistance to penetration of liquids
    Penetration     to viral      carrying bacteria, while being subjected to mechanical rubbing.

    MICROCOOL IS BREATHABLE
     MicroCool* passes the Water Vapor Transmission Rate Test
        This test is used to indicate "breathability" of film based fabrics.
        Moisture vapor particles are much smaller in size than blood droplets and
         other fluids, as well as viruses and bacteria.
        A dry chamber is separated from a wet chamber (of known temperature and
         humidity) by a permanent guard film and the sample. Water vapor is
         introduced and the transmission rate through the sample is calculated using
         electrical signals
