Possibilities of co-financing within EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism
EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism
The main objective for which the resources provided by donor countries under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA) and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism will be earmarked is the implementation of growth-
stimulating projects contributing to the reduction of economic and social
disparities in the European Economic Area. Additionally, implementation of the said projects will strengthen bilateral cooperation between Poland and donor countries.
Although the category of beneficiaries of the programme consists of both public and private sector subjects, in practice private sector subjects (administrative districts, poviats) received a large majority of the subsidies (more than 90%).
27
EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism
Financial resources under the EEA Financial Mechanism will be available for the implementation of projects within the six following priority sectors: • Protection of the environment, including the human environment, through, inter alia, reduction of pollution and promotion of renewable energy (last call for proposals within the priority - Q1 2007),
• Promotion of sustainable development through improved resource use and management,
• • Conservation of European cultural heritage, including public transport and urban renewal (last call for proposals within the priority - Q1 2007), Human resource development through, inter alia, promotion of education and training, strengthening of administrative or public service capacities of local government or its institutions, as well as strengthening of democratic processes that support it, Health and childcare, Academic research (last call for proposals within the priority - Q1 2007).
