May 28, 2008 Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation Awards Grant for Spay/Neuter Program Press Release For Immediate Release $2,500 Grant Awarded for Northwoods Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter Program Wyoming, Minnesota – June 16, 2008 – Northwoods Humane Society is pleased to announce that it is the proud recipient of a $2,500 grant from the Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation. The grant will partially fund the spay and neuter of all companion animals arriving at Northwoods Humane Society in 2008 prior to their being made available for adoption. “Our goal,” states Executive Director, Brenda Farr Zelinka, “is to reduce pet overpopulation by reducing the number of unwanted pets due to unintentional breeding.” Spaying and neutering also decreases health risks for animals and can reduce negative behaviors that can result in the animal being surrendered to the Humane Society. Northwoods Humane Society would like to share its appreciation for the Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation.
