									Biography:

Pam Occhipinti, Director, Career Services, Loyola University New Orleans School of Law,
received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, a Master of
Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University
New Orleans College of Business. Prior to law school, she received her chef’s certification from
Gaston Lenotre in Bois D’Arcy, France, and worked as a professional chef for fourteen years.
While in law school, the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and the ABA awarded
Ms. Occhipinti the National VITA Award for coordinating the best VITA Program in the United
States for (1994/1995). Following law school graduation in December 1994, Ms. Occhipinti
accepted the position as Director of Career Services. Since becoming Director, Ms. Occhipinti
has increased the law school’s hire rate within six months of graduation from 40% to 100%.
Loyola’s Career Services Office has gained national recognition as consistently achieving a
national employment rate in the top 5% of all law schools. In 2001, the Loyola Washington, DC
Alumni Chapter recognized Ms. Occhipinti’s dedication to the Chapter. Ms. Occhipinti is an
active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Association of Women
Attorneys(New Orleans Chapter), and the National Association for Law Placement (NALP).
Ms. Occhipinti was appointed and served on NALP’s National Research Advisory Council
(RAC) from 2003-2005. During her tenure on RAC, Ms. Occhipinti presented an educational
program at the NALP 2004 Annual Conference, created an Annual Report Guide for other law
schools, a student survey on Career Services, and a national salary report on government and
public interest jobs, all of which have been published by NALP. Ms. Occhipinti presently serves
on the NALP Public Interest Service Committee, has served on the NALP Small Firm
Committee and co-chaired and published an article for NALP’s Alternative Careers Committee.
For the past eleven years, Ms. Occhipinti has served as the public speaker on legal matters for
the U.S. Small Business Administration/SCORE (Louisiana Chapter) Program. For ten years,
Ms. Occhipinti lecturered for Loyola University College of Business, Small Business
Development Center’s BEST Program, The University of New Orleans Small Business
Development Center, and the Entrepreneurship class for Tulane University’s Doctoral
Engineering Program.
