									International Seminar on "International Humanitarian Law, an Islamic Vision"
                     Tehran, Hotel Esteghlal, 1-3 May 2010

                     Information Note for the participants

   Welcome at the airport:

   Upon arrival at the Tehran international Imam Khomeini airport, please seek for
   someone with the emblem of the Iranian Red Crescent Society          who is waiting for
   you to help you with the transfer from the airport to Esteghlal Hotel. The Iranian Red
   Crescent will provide free transportation from airport to the venue of the Seminar and
   hotel of accommodation for all participants.

   Venue of the Seminar and accommodation:

   The seminar will be held in 5 stars Hotel Esteghlal, in Tehran where also the
   accommodation is made for all participants. The Iranian Red Crescent Society
   provided free of charge accommodation for all the participants. The names of the
   participants are all ready given to the hotel and please provide your ID for check in
   and registration.        The address of Hotel Esteghlal is as following:
The seminar will be held in Daryay- E- Noor Hall at the ground floor of the hotel.

Climate and temperature in Tehran

Tehran is mega city with a population of about 12 million people, located on the
outskirt of Alborz Mountains. Tehran is a four season city and will have a mild
weather with some sporadic rains during the time of the Seminar. The temperature is
expected between 15 and 25 C.

Important sites and historical places to visit in Tehran

. There are many sites and places to visit in Tehran such as the following:

1. Carpet Museum, Located in Tehran, beside Laleh Park, and founded in 1976, the
Carpet Museum of Iran exhibits a variety of Persian carpets from all over Iran, dating
from 18th century to present.

2. Tochal Slope. This slope being 3,500 m. above sea-level is located in the fifth
station of Tochal Tele Cabin. At the end of this station there are also many restaurants
and resting facilities

3. Saadabad Palace museum built during the Pahlavi dynasty of Iran in the Shemiran
area of Tehran.

A visit to a historical place in Tehran on 2 May afternoon is planned for all
