                    ABI Inform Research is a scholarly business database containing information
                    on advertising, economics, human resources, finance, marketing, computers,
          and more. Access information on over 60,000 companies.

                        Business and Management Practices is a database on the practical aspects
                        and approaches to business management. Contains online articles about
          the practical aspects of business management. Provides real-world know-how that
          focuses on how organizations make and implement decisions, develop and launch new
          strategies, and plan for change. Includes case studies and how-to articles. Searches for
          business concepts, industries, and specific departments within an organization.
            JSTOR is a not–for–profit organization dedicated to helping the scholarly
            community discover, use, and build upon a wide range of intellectual
            content in a trusted digital archive. Searches can be limited to broad
            subject areas, such as business and sociology. Contents range from the first
            issue published up to 1-5 years prior to the current year.


                   Academic   provides searchable access to a comprehensive spectrum of
                   full-text information selected to meet academic research needs.
Includes national and regional newspapers, business news journals, and industry and
market news.

             PsycINFO is an electronic database providing abstracts and citations to the
             scholarly literature in the psychological, social, behavioral, and health
sciences. The database includes material of relevance to psychologists and professionals
in related fields such as psychiatry, management, business, education, social science,
neuroscience, law, medicine, and social work. Updated weekly, with coverage beginning
in 1806.

Other Library Databases

            Business and Industry contains important facts, figures and key events for
            international public and private companies, industries, products, and
markets for manufacturing and service industries. It covers all the primary business
information sources--from leading trade magazines, newsletters, and the general
business press to international business dailies.

                                Mergent Online is a global database of corporate
                                information. Data is available for 10,000 U.S. public
                                companies, including SEC filings. Also included are
historical and current company annual reports.

                                 The ReferenceUSA database contains detailed
                                 information on more than 14 million U.S. businesses,
                                 210 million U.S. residents, 855,000 U.S. health care
                                 providers, 1.5 million Canadian businesses, and 12
million Canadian households.

            STAT-USA/Internet is an extensive collection of U.S. economic and
            finance data, international trade statistics, and market research reports.
            It is divided into two main areas: State of the Nation and GLOBUS &
            NTDB. State of the Nation allows you to track the direction of the U.S.
            economy with over 4,000 current statistical releases and reports.
GLOBUS & NTDB is an expansive database of country and market research reports.

                  Opening its doors in 1977, APQC (then named the American Productivity
                  Center) was backed by a powerhouse board of directors, including

officials. Since that time APQC has made great strides in fulfilling its mission of
increasing productivity in organizations worldwide by leveraging best practices and
benchmarking research.

Baldridge National Quality Program (BNQP) is the quality award program of the U.S.
government’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which recognizes
U.S. organizations for their achievements in quality and performance and to raise
awareness about the importance of quality and performance excellence as a
competitive edge.

               The Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) Program was created in 1985 to
               help businesses identify, research, and promote exceptional
               manufacturing practices, methods, and procedures. Its objective is to
empower defense and commercial customers to operate at a higher level of efficiency
and effectiveness.

                             The Business Excellence Australia (BEN Australia) is your
                             connection to government initiatives, training resources and
                             corporate events throughout Australia. BEN Australia plays a

                   The only trade association for the instrumentation and automation

Center for Operational Excellence
Located at the Fisher School of Business at Ohio State University, the COE is a unique

The Center for Quality and Productivity Improvement, established in 1985, is a joint
venture by the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Engineering, Graduate
School of Business, and the Department of Statistics.

                       The Chartered Quality Institute is the chartered body for quality
                       management professionals. Established in 1919 and formerly the
                       Institute of Quality Assurance, we gained a Royal Charter in 2006,

Deming Electronic Network Web Site
This Web site provides more than 1,000 files, programs, papers, and essays relating to
Deming. There is also a discussion list.

                     The European Foundation for Quality Management promotes
                     quality improvement throughout European companies and
organizations.

                     The European Organization for Quality, based in Switzerland,
                     fosters the exchange of information about best practices and
                     quality management.


                                 This site provides detailed information on the
                                 International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
                                 and ISO standards.

                           The Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) “was
                           established in May 1946 and authorized as the foundation
                           of a juridical body by the Science and Technology Agency

                             The Juran Institute specializes in Six Sigma, consulting, and

                        Founded in 1901, the National Institute of Standards and
                        Technology (NIST) “is a non-regulatory federal agency within
                        the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST's mission is to

economic security and improve our quality of life.”
