The Commissioner of Financial Regulation regulates
consumer reporting agencies operating in Maryland. If
you are a resident and believe that your rights were
violated, you may file a written complaint with the
Commissioner. The Commissioner cannot act as your
legal counsel, however, the agency may hold a hearing
on a violation by a consumer reporting agency or
mediate disputes between consumer and consumer
