Please attach a recent grade report as well as a brief 1 page typed essay outlining why you would like to attend this conference, and how you think you would benefit from this experience.

Menno Simons College Travel Bursary 2007-2008 Information Sheet
Menno Simons College is offering travel bursaries of $300 each for students planning to attend one of the pre-approved conferences listed below. EcoCity World Summit – April 22-26, San Fransisco, CA, http://www.ecocityworldsummit.org Insight – June 5-7, Vancouver, BC. No website yet. Info on the related CASID conference can be found at . http://www.casid-acedi.ca/eng/conference/papers.html Insight runs alongside the CASID conference every year. Other – Students may choose to attend a IDS/CRS related conference which does not appear on this form. In this case, the student must submit a proposal to the MSC Student Services Committee with their application, outlining relevant details of the conference and how the student believes it connects with his or her IDS/CRS class or degree.
Terms and Conditions: 1. All documents must be submitted to MSC by the deadlines provided. 2. Eligibility: all students who are currently majoring in IDS or CRS OR who are enrolled in at least one CRS or IDS course from Spring 2007-Winter 2008 are encouraged to apply. 3. The number of students receiving bursaries to a specific conference may be limited. If more applications are received than funds available, bursaries will be awarded based on a student’s academic history as well as essay persuasiveness. 4. Funds will not be made available to the bursary recipient until MSC receives confirmation of the student’s registration in the specified conference as well as a liability waiver form (provided by MSC). 5. By accepting the bursary, the student commits to submitting a one page report of the conference to MSC Student Services, outlining their overall experience, what they learned, what they found valuable, etc. This report will be submitted no later than one month after the conference dates.
